World 1: Chapter 2

Chapter 2: The puppy seems interesting

Luis was looking at the small puppy on her bed. She was assessing this breed while waiting for her parents to come back from a corporate meeting today. In her first life, she was alone inside this huge house, and even with that adopted older sister of hers, she still feels empty and manipulated. Now in this current life of hers, she will definitely straighten things out and will not let her family go to ruin.

She snapped out of her thoughts as the puppy started to create noises and walked towards her way. Its footwork was weird and a bit funny, and its ears were perked up and its light blue eyes were staring at her face, or to be more precise her eyes.

She put her hands up and watched as it approached her hand in a curious manner. She played with the puppy for a while before she noticed that it started to look less enthusiastic and energetic. She stood up from the bed and opened the intercom that contacts the head maid and the head butler.

"Prepare a meal for me and my pet, medium raw steak, and orange juice. Also, have someone to buy a set of things I need for my pet," Luis said and turned off the intercom. She went back to lie on her bed on her stomach and watched the puppy lay down a few inches away from her.

While they were waiting she decided to search about Huskies and was in a treat for much interesting information. After waiting for fifteen minutes, the food arrived and they eat together at her study table.

Luis occasionally looked down to watch her new puppy eat and wonders about how to raise the puppy in the near future. She thought about it, before purchasing the puppy before. She was all alone in her first life, her friends were fake, her adoptive older sister was just a manipulative freak who took advantage of her family, and her family fell to their demise for being targeted by that tyrant jerk. 

'That jerk, once I know more about that jerk I will make sure he will go down sooner than later. In this life, I will not let anything step on me,' She thought as a frown appeared on her face. 

Her thoughts were cut short when the puppy barked at her for attention. She looks down and saw that the puppy was finished eating and was looking at her under there. She drink the last sip of her orange juice before she bent down to take the puppy from the floor to her lap. It immediately sniffed the table, seemingly attracted to the smell of the food left on the plate before he turn to look at her face. 

"..." Luis put her hand above his head and ruffle its head. Her mind went back to her train of thought. 

In this second chance in life, she will make sure that she will give back the karma that those people deserve while at the same time, trying to live the best out of it... that is why she bought a dog of her own. Maybe she can balance her life and revenge this time. 

"woof!" Luis looked back down again and smiled at the puppy. There are a lot of things that she needs to do to groom her new pet, but what's more important right now, is that she will be happy with her companion. 

... Or so she thought. 

While she was inside her room holding her dog, her adoptive older sister, Chloe, was busy telling her adoptive parents about the issue of her buying a puppy on her own. 

"Mom, I just saw Luis' package earlier and it was a small husky dog. I was wondering if she told you about that. I do not really know where that dog came from and the pet shop maybe is not licensed or something. Can you ask her about it later? She's already inside her room with that dog and hasn't gone out since it came here." Chloe said with a hint of worry in her voice.

"Wait, what?! Why did she buy a pet without our permission?! We will call her now, tell the servants to clean her room soon after," Her adoptive father said and ended the call. Chloe put her phone down with a victorious smile on her face. 

She was surprised earlier by her sudden change of pace and attitude towards her, however, inside this household, she was still the most trusted by her adoptive parents. Who cares if she changes or something? In the end, her parents will still listen to her, the adoptive daughter, then her, the real daughter.

While she was waiting in the living room with the flat-screen television on, her ears picked up the door opening from the second floor. She precisely sat down on the couch that looks towards the direction of Luis' room. Her eyes went up and met the silent rage coming from the eyes of the child five years younger than her. She smiled and took the remote control of the television before leaning back on the couch, feeling self-assured.

'Yes, nobody cares about what you want to do or say, because at the end of the day, everything will be seen as childish play by the adults,' Chloe thought and called the servants who were idle near her.

"Clean Luis' room and make sure that the dog is out of the house, Our parents told me to order you guys to do it," She said without turning to look at them at all. However, a childish but strong voice stopped the servants from moving another step from where they are. 

"Stop. Mom and Dad didn't say anything like that at all, Head butler, did you receive any message from them?" She asked and the head butler took out his work phone to look for any mails. He did receive one from the Madam. 

"There's a mail from the madam saying to escort the youngest miss to prepare necessary documents and the vet for the dog's documents," The head butler said and looked back to Chloe with a questioning look. 

Chloe felt her face frown as she felt flustered inside. Why did their mom mail the head butler when she clearly called their dad about that little dog?! Why did she get involved?!

"Next time you tattle, make sure to get your facts checked before running your mouth, BIG SISTER," Luis told her before turning around and telling the head butler to wait for her to change first before they leave to do the other tasks.

Chloe was left there in the living room, gritting her teeth and closing her fists tight in anger and humiliation. Eyes glaring at the closed door of Luis' room.
