Darren P.O.V

My first day of training wad difficult , I had to fight all of the new trainees that would be shipped off to the different legions . I at first thought this was just a black stone prison but apparently not , it seems we need to deal out new soldiers evenly to the legions so they could all defend ashfeld . The warden came to watch the progress , at that moment I had tossed a new trainee to the ground and I then proceeded to help him up giving words of encouragement and advice to him . When I had finished helping him the warden called me over to him , when I got next to him he started asking me questions.

W : How goes trainin)g these boys ?

D : It is going alright sir , they are a bit rough around the edges but they will be in shape in no time .

W : Good the iron legion needs more men . The recent vikings raids have been kicking their asses .

D : Have they lost any ground ?

W : Thankfully no but they have come close .

I started to think why have we allowed ourselves to become so .... weak . So weak that vikings can just stroll up anytime they want and pillage our lands . We need to change our ways or else the legions and it's people will continue to suffer. I will can not allow thos to continue someone has to do something.

W : So this will be your duty from this day foward train new recruits every day until your release , am I understood.

I salute the Warden and give him

D : Yes sir !

W : That's what I like to hear , now get down there and run them into the ground .

D : Yes sir

I immediately sprint down the stairs and continue the recruit's training , this will be his job for many years to come .

4 years later

Third person P.O.V

Darren has been training new soldiers for the legions for years now and it has been seen that the soldiers he trains come out tougher than any before . They have started to refer to him as
" Forge " not because he a smith but because to him they are raw iron and melts them down than beats them into shape . Darren hasn't left the fort in since he arrived , he also hasn't heard from his family, especially from Isabella and Olivia he wishes to hear from both of them . One day he is called to the Warden's chambers to speak with him , though he wonders why . Darren arrived with minutes of hearing he was called and the Warden was waiting there for him .

W : Forge ... have a seat .

D : Is there a problem Warden ?

W : Yes there is are vikings landing only
Two days away from our position.

D : I didn't think the vikings would be dumb enough to attack this place again .

W : Vikings will attempt to raid anything if given a reason or hell sometimes no reasons at all . Point is we need to prepare and get whatever troops we have on hand ready to fight.

D : I'll start right away .

Darren left and immediately made his to the barracks to inform his trainees and trainers of the coming storm . He started by first getting them into standard squads with roughly 1 guard or " captain " for every 15 recruits.  Darren knew they would have to at least increase the recruit's training and prepare them for what a siege is like , Darren would leave that up to the Warden . As Darren was preparing he was also looking over the convicts and trying to decide if he would bring the possibility of unleashing the hordes of convicts if the prison gaurds are being overwhelmed .  Darren had his plans they began to fortify the for even more than it was before they were offered food by what locals were around to help with provisions and in turn offered safety for those villages that had no walls .

Darren new this would be this would be his first real taste of battle not just training . So he writes one last letter to his family before just in case he .... Dies . So he wrote his letter and sent it off and returned to preparing their defenses .

And that's were im gonna end off guys I hope you guys enjoyed and I hope you continue to enjoy and I hope you guys have a nice day , nice night , nice life
