The men stood and watched as the Uber took their mate away. "Fuck." Val breathed out before turning to look at his best friends. Wes held a wide smile. "I told you it would be a great night. I also told you that she was real." Damien shook his head with his usual blank expression. "Just go ahead and say I told you so already." Wes was practically shaking with excitement. "I can't believe we found her." Val nodded with a chuckle. "I bet you Luci's will be your favorite place moving forward."
Wes chuckled slightly as a group of women made their way towards them. "If it isn't the Triple Threat." The brunette said with a sexy smirk on her face. She walked directly up to Val and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Let's go upstairs so I can show you what these hips can do." Val stared at her with a bored expression before removing her arms.
"I'm good." He noticed that Damien and Wes were already getting in the car that was pulled up by valet. "What's wrong with you Val?" The brunette questioned loudly. "We're off the market, love. The boys and I have a girlfriend now." He closed the door and sat back as Damien took off. "Wait...girlfriend...as in singular?" The brunette questioned watching them speed off.
"I told you your whorish ways were going to catch up with you," Wes warned from the front seat. "Shut up," Val retorted looking out the window. They sat in silence for a bit before Damien broke it. "She's gorgeous," he said on a sigh. "She really fucking is, but doesn't seem to believe that. I could've killed that waitress." Val growled. "Did you tell Ian to fire her?" He asked Damien who nodded. "He hates when I get in his head, but this was important." Wes sighed happily. "She sounded amazing up there," Wes spoke up. Val and Damien nodded. "It reminded me almost of a siren." Damien offered causing them to agree.
They made their way into their mansion and sat in one of the living rooms. "I want to text her so bad." Val said as his knee bounced. "So, text her." Wes said looking at him as if he were stupid. "I can't. It'll make me seem desperate." Damien let out an uncharacteristic chuckle. "You are desperate. She's our fucking mate." Wes shook his head at his best friend. "Val, do not try and play those silly mind games you play with your trollops." Val rolled his eyes. "She's human though. Human women have rules and I don't want to come off as desperate."
Wes grabbed his phone and took down her number before texting it. "There. Done. Unlike you, I want to make sure my mate made it home safely." Val pouted as Wes and Damien sat down thinking on the dark-skinned vixen that they knew would occupy their minds for eternity. "She's a mother." Damien finally spoke up. Their moods shifted. "I want to kill whoever had the audacity to touch what is ours." Val declared with such venom. "So, you can have flings, but she can't?" Wes asked with a quirked eyebrow. "Leave playing Devil's advocate to Damien," Val replied curtly.
"Her son is a part of her, so we'll love him too." Damien finally said. "We will also ensure that the father of her child is out of the picture once we've mated." They all nodded their heads in agreement. Their mind brought up images of their mate and the smiles on their faces were beaming. For the first time in the thousands of years of their existence, they were all truly happy.
Harlow walked the streets of the Central District and sighed. She didn't have the amount of money that she needed to live a comfortable life in Seattle like she did Decatur. Most of her funds went to her mother's medical bills before she died. Her life insurance was helpful, but she didn't want to blow it all in one go. She found a studio apartment in one of the most dangerous, but affordable parts of Seattle and trusted that her new job would help her get out sooner than later.
The Uber driver would not pull up directly in front of her building out of fear. She understood, but it still sucked. She felt her phone vibrate in her purse, but decided to wait until she was safely in her apartment. She needed to be vigilant. As she made it into the building with the broken glass and door, she walked up the six flights of stairs knowing without looking that the elevators would be broken. She saw needles and other trash on the stairs and did her best to avoid them. "This is temporary." She told herself as she made it into her apartment.
