"Why can't we take her home?" Wes asked frustrated. "She's too weak to go through a portal. We have to wait." Damien informed for the fifth time. He understood their fear, because his matched. It had been the equivalent to two days on Earth though only two hours had passed in Hell.
"This was too much. This whole thing was too damn much!" Val screamed looking at his mate in the hospital bed. "Your father pushed too far, Dame. He pushed too damn far!" Wes said stressed out. They watched as her father silently held her hand as he meditated.
Damien was grateful that they had found him and they were reconciled. A demon could share their healing strength with their offspring and he was thankful for that given their current situation. He made his way to his father's office and didn't bother knocking. He found him drinking and looking out of his window.
"You always do too much, but this time was too far, father. If she doesn't make it through this, I will never speak to you again. I will never forgive you for taking away the best thing that's ever happened to me." Lucifer didn't turn around he just continued to look out. "I told myself I'd be nothing like him," he finally spoke up.
"My father, your grandfather, is a real piece of work. When I was kid it was nothing but rules and regulations. He wanted us to be a certain way and do certain things. All of a sudden, he starts singing a new tune and creates mortals with free will. All because he was bored and tired of us. His original children."
"He just threw us away over an argument. He wouldn't even hear my side. He didn't care to know why I felt the way that I did." Damien had never heard his father breakdown like this. He rarely heard about his grandfather from his father.
All he knew about God were from other fallen angels and on Earth. "Harlow angered me, because she has the best of both worlds. She can go home and see the fountains and the foliage and hear the seraphim."
Damien watched as a tear fell from his father's eye and was shocked. "I'm sorry for pushing her. If I'm being honest, I was jealous. She doesn't know what she is able to do. I would kill to go back. I would do almost anything to even see Him again."
Damien listened to his father vent and let him. "Father, why don't you just talk to him." Lucifer wiped his eyes before looking at his son crazily. "That bridge has been burned with hellfire quite literally. There's no going back." He sighed before turning to face him.
"I will beg for her forgiveness when she awakes and she will. I've seen many supernatural creatures and Harlow is one of the strongest. She had no training or supernatural upbringing and she was able to do the impossible. Harlow, Kali and Ayla are all worthy to rule beside you."
Damien gave his father a small smile before pulling him in for an unexpected hug. "I love you, father. I hope you know that. Just like I know you love me, I'm sure grandfather loves you regardless of all that has transpired."
Lucifer patted his back before letting go. 'She's awake!' Wes screamed through the mind link. Damien told his father the good news before teleporting to the hospital room. "Little thing," Damien called out as he pulled her hand into his own and kissed it.
"Hi," Harlow smiled at him before caressing his cheek. She could see the worry in their eyes and tried to soothe them. "I'm fine, my loves. I promise." Damien waited for the nurse to tell him for sure. Harlow didn't think it was necessary, but if it calmed them then she'd wait it out.
They ended up staying the night in Hell per the doctor's orders, but Harlow refused to stay in the hospital. Damien ended up taking her to his wing and showing her around. As they passed demons, Harlow couldn't help but stop them from bowing. She wanted them to see her as an equal, but Damien just laughed at her.
