Here's another one of my poems. This one is based off of personal experience. So, enjoy! :)

***

Blue like the sea and blond like the stars

I can't say you were always there

I never felt your warmth or safety

I never felt the pleasure of velvety sweet

Love colored my cheeks with every word whispered, sent, and read

But it never carried through

Embarrassment colored my cheeks when crowds could see

I didn't know why but I knew what

I had to do the hurt and watched you fall apart

I wanted you to move on yet I couldn't

Your rivers dried up in the warmth of another

Like a lone wolf I stood

My facade never cracked

Giving up and in and hoping again

Maturity and sense kicked in and I did the hard

If I was embarrassed to be thought of by others

I had no right to love another
