The smell of hand sanitizer hit me when I walked in the doctors office again. I ain't know how this shit work. It was a couple of people in front of me and it was only one lady at the desk. The same lady.
I don't know about these other people, but I know my shit is scheduled, so I walk up in front of them. I'm the only black nigga up in hea. These folks lookin me up and down.
"Excuse me," I say as I cut in front of the lady in the front of the line. She gasped and backed up.
Barbara, the rude front desk lady acted like she ain't never seen a nigga before. "Why you acting like you ain't never seen me before Barbara" I tilted my head
She rolled her eyes, "I remember you," she looked at the lady in the line and changed her tone to a high pitched voice , "excuse me right quick M'am"
She waddled to the back. Sighing I moved over some from in front of the lady and leaned on the counter. Barbara was taking a long ass time.
I looked up when I heard the door open again. Barbara went back to attending to the other people as a black girl came over to me with a smile on her face.
"Mr. Brewster -
Barbara huffed and turned to look at her, "you're supposed to come out and get the patients from that door" she pointed to the door out in the lobby. "Not from behind the desk girly"
She looked down at her folder with embarrassment, "I'm sorry, let me-
Barbara shook her head in disappointment.
I motioned for the girl to do what she had to do and let her know it's no big deal. A few seconds later she came from the lobby door and called me.
I walked with her and shook her hand. "Good evening, my name is-
"Egypt" I flashed a smile, "we met in Atl rememba?"
She looked at me weirdly, and shook it off, "my office is this way"
Compared to the other offices that I saw , hers was empty.
"Please have a seat," she smiled and took her seat across from me.
I won't judging her but shorty wasn't too dressed up either. "It's your first day or some shit?" I asked as I looked around.
"Why do you ask that" she looked up from the files.
Shrugging I said, "you ain't got shit in ya office and I know females like to decorate and shit like that"
She chuckled, "well if you must know, this is my first day. I guess you could tell from a few minutes ago" she shook her head
"Yeahhh," I dragged, "don't let that old bitch up front talk to you any kind of way either"
She raised her eyebrows at my choice of words, "my fault,"
Shaking her head, "a wise Man once said to never let a bitch trick you out ya spot" she said catching me off guard.
"Damn, I like you" I leaned back in my chair. She chuckled. "Alright, enough introduction what seems to be your problem" she tilted her head.
