GEORGIE

"Finally, you're up."

It's around noon when I make my way downstairs and decide to bless Louis and Joey with my presence. It's the weekend, which means I got to sleep in and actually not feel that bad about having to wake up.

Louis is running around the house with the wedding binder tucked under his right arm while holding onto a red fabric sample in his hand. Joey is placed at the living room table, a mountain of fabric samples laying in front of him.

"Now you can help me decide which shade of red is the best for our tablecloths." Louis says, throwing the piece of fabric down in front of Joey before looking up at me. He's back on the wedding planning which means I probably get stuck doing that all day, considering my brother can't make decisions.

"Please.. help me." Joey mouths at me which makes me laugh and Louis smack him on the back of his head.

"I'm marrying the worst decision maker alive, we've been on this topic for about two hours now." Louis sighs, looking over at me as he rests his hands on Joey's shoulders.

"We decided on red, you just keep showing me all the different shades but red is red to me."

"See what I'm working with here." Louis rolls his eyes at Joey's words, making me chuckle.

"I'll help you Lou, I just need some coffee first." I state before I make my way over towards the kitchen.

I let the coffee run into my favorite flower pattern mug and then listen to Louis and Joey arguing, barely able to contain my laughter because they sound ridiculous. As I watch the dark substance pooling up in the cup, my mind wanders off to the end of the book Harry gave me. I finished reading it last night and let me tell you, it broke my heart.

"Georgie, don't forget that me and Louis are gone this afternoon! We'll probably be home late." Joey yells over at me, waking me out of my thoughts.

I grab my cup of coffee, pour some milk in it and then move myself back towards the living room so I can react to his words. I've got no idea what he's talking about, my brain has been all fuzzy lately and so whatever they tell me goes in one ear and out the other immediately.

"Where are you guys going?" I ask, bringing the cup up to my lips while looking at Joey.

"First we're looking at a possible venue for the wedding and then we'll grab dinner on our way back here." He says, a smile covering his lips just by speaking about their plans. It's adorable.

"Aw guys, thanks for the invite." I smile, voice dripping in sarcasm which makes them both glare at me.

Louis and Joey have been gone for about two hours now. I've taken up the chance of being alone in the house and took a long, hot bath. I haven't been able to do some self care in a while, so I was very much in need of it.

I dress myself in an oversized band tee, it's a shirt that used to be my father's. It's the only thing I have left from him, sneaked it in my bedroom when my mother was getting rid of my father's stuff. He chose booze over me and that's enough for me to hate his guts, but the little girl inside me can't seem to let go of her father completely. So, sometimes I put on the shirt and pretend the only version of my father to exist in my head is the one before he started drinking.

Back downstairs, I can't even install myself on the couch to chill because I get interrupted by the doorbell that echoes through the house. A sigh rolls over my lips as I keep a hold on the cereal box in my hand while making my way over towards the front door.
