GEORGIE

It's morning and I'm still in bed.

That is not an odd thing for me to do but still there's something strange going on, I'm reading. Yeah.. reading. I gave the book that Mister Styles gave me an actual chance and it turns out to be incredibly good.

"Wake your ass up, Gee!"

Joey walks into my room and the look on his face when he sees me is incredible, it's like he has just seen a ghost. His eyes dart in between me and the book for a few seconds while he can't seem to produce one word to say right now. Well, it has been a while since I picked up a book again so I don't blame him.

"What's happening? Are you well?" he asks.

"I am, just reading." I state the obvious.

"I know.. that's why I'm asking." he furrows his brows.

I roll my eyes at his dramatics before placing my bookmark, a picture of Louis when he was a little kid, in between the pages. I get up out of bed and place the book into my backpack, yawning widely as I have not caught much sleep last night because I was constantly up and thinking about that book.

When I check my phone, I see that I got a text from Niall. He's asking me if we're walking to school together, because we found out yesterday that we actually don't live that far from one another. I text him and tell him that he can come and get me.

As I make my way downstairs, dressed and washed, I can hear some commotion going on in the living room. It's not hard to guess who is being so loud and angry so early in the morning, it's my mother. She must have just come home, she usually stumbles in when the sun comes up.

"Good morning guys, how I love the sounds of you all arguing in the morning." I say as I walk into the room, my voice dripping in sarcasm.

"Oh shut up, it's your brother who's starting all this bullshit." My mother snaps at me.

"Excuse me, Amanda. Sorry for caring about your dumbass!" Joey raises his voice, sending her a nasty glare before storming off into the kitchen.

"I don't need you to care!" she yells, now grabbing the guy next to her and finally making me realize he was even here in the first place. I was too caught up with how hyper she is acting. "I have John here who cares about me deeply and he's all I need." she might not be slurring her words this time but she's speaking way too fast, lets me know that she's high on cocaine.

I look over at Louis and see how he's shaking his head, when he locks eyes with me a sympathetic smile grows onto his lips. I am able to give him a weak smile back before I glance back over at my mother.

"Make your brother listen to me, I want him to know this!" she's now yelling at me.

"Leave me out of it." I try to walk past her and get myself to the kitchen. I just want to take my medication, eat something and then head out of here. I really don't want to deal with my mother's bullshit today.

For once I just want to be able to walk away from her. Right as I think I might've made it, she grabs me by the arm and yanks me back to her. My face winces as her fake nails dig deeply into my arm.

"You listen to me!" she speaks through her teeth, pupils so wide that it almost takes away all the blue in her eyes. I've never seen her look like this, she seems absolutely manic. Booze never makes her this mad, just makes her tired and leaves her passed out somewhere on the floor.

"Let me go." I tell her, training to stay calm because I don't want to get angry like her.

Louis is quick to step forwards, anger flooding his eyes as he places his hand onto Amanda's shoulder. For a minute I get scared that her new boyfriend John might intervene, but when I look into his eyes I can see that he's way too drunk to even think straight. He's not even noticing what's going on right now.
