The Fifth Marauder

Chapter 1

Aurora Prewett was truly a pretty girl, even if she looked nothing like her siblings. She had black hair, deep blue eyes and relatively pale skin. This is her story.

YEAR 1:

Aurora followed her older sister Molly onto the Hogwarts Express. Her brothers Fabian and Gideon had left and went Merlin knows where. "Now listen Aurora, I've to go and meet with the other prefects. So you behave yourself and find a compartment, ok?" Molly said. Aurora nodded barely listening. At first, she wandered the train, until she came across two boys, one was rather tall and the other rather short. "Hi, I'm Aurora." She said going up to them. "Hi, I'm Remus and this is Peter." The taller boy said. "Nice to meet you." Aurora smiled. "Would you like to sit with us?" Remus asked. Aurora nodded and followed the boys. "C'mon. Everywhere else is full." Remus said pointing to a compartment containing two dark-haired boys. Aurora opened the door and sat. Remus and Peter followed her. "Hi, I'm Remus Lupin. This is Peter Pettigrew and Aurora......I don't know her last name." Remus said. "Prewett. Aurora Prewett." Aurora stated firmly. "I'm James Potter and this is Sirius Black." The boy with glasses said. "Black?!" Aurora exclaimed. Sirius flushed but nodded. "What's wrong with him being a Black?" James challenged Aurora. Aurora felt anger flare in her chest and if you were looking into her eyes in the moment, you would've seen her eyes flash red for a split second. When James realised this, he gulped. But when Aurora spoke she was calm. "Nothing. I was merely curious." Aurora said. 

In no time, it was time for them to be sorted. "Black, Sirius." Professor McGonagall called out. After a bit of deliberation, it chose Gryffindor, which deeply surprised Aurora.

"Lupin, Remus" 

"Gryffindor"

"Pettigrew Peter"

"Gryffindor"

"Potter, James"

"Gryffindor"

"Prewett, Aurora" This was it. Aurora walked up and sat on the stool. All her friends were in Gryffindor. But she was placed in Slytherin. She sat at the table. After the S names were called, a boy whose name was Severus Snape sat beside her. "I'm Serverus Snape." He said sticking out his hand. "I'm Aurora Prewett." Aurora said. "Nice to meet you." Severus said. "Likewise." Aurora said smiling. As they ate, they talked about their feelings about being sorted into Slytherin house. Then they were led to the dungeons. They reached a bare stretch of wall, that wasn't covered in moss. "The password for entry is pure blood but it changes monthly." The Slytherin prefect, a boy called Lucius Malfoy said. "There is no pattern to the changes in the passwords however, there is a specific list." The girl prefect, Narcissa Black said. "The boy's dorms are through this door while the girl's are through that one." Malfoy said pointing to a door on the right of the common room for boy's and on the left for the girls. "You'll find all your belongings have been brought up." Black said smiling.
