The Fifth Marauder

Chapter 2

The next morning,  Aurora woke, and showered before going down for breakfast. She was originally going to sit at the Slytherin table with Severus buy no sooner had she sat down, Sirius and James were waving her over. She quickly apologised to her friend and went over to them. "What do you want?" She asked. "Sit with us." James whined like a five year old. Aurora laughed. "Sorry guys. I can't, not on the first morning, we get our schedules today." She said. "Right, mhm." Remus said. Aurora smiled at them all and went back to the Slytherin table. No sooner had she sat beside Severus that Porfessor Slughorn, her head of house, gave her her schedule. Her day was a good day. She had Potions with the Gryffindors first, then Transfiguration with the Hufflepuffs, Herbology with the Ravenclaws and then Charms with the Hufflepuffs. She quickly went to her dorm to get the stuff she needed and proceeded the Potions classroom, which didn't take long as both her common room and the Potions classroom were in the dungeons. She saw Severus sitting beside an empty seat but she wanted to sit next to one of the Marauders so she apologised to Severus and sat down near the front. 

It took a while for the whole class to assemble and even longer for Professor Slughorn to come in. When he came in, he told everyone to stand and he'd sit them, Gryffindor with Slytherin. 

"Mr Snape with Mr Potter, Miss Prewett with Mr Lupin, Mr Black with Mr Rosier, Mr Avery with Miss Evans, Mr Pettigrew with Mr Carrow, Miss Carrow with Miss McKinnon, Miss Meadows with Miss Nott and Miss Fortescue with Mr Greengrass." Slughorn said. Everyone moved to sit with their partners. There was a few grumblings here and there but overall the class wasn't too upset with the seats because as it was the first day, rivalries weren't established yet. Aurora and Remus sat behind Sirius and Evan Rosier and in front of Lily Evans and Luke Avery. The first lesson was more theory based but Slughorn promised that they'd be doing proper Potions from the next lesson. Aurora walked out of the class with the four other Marauders. "What's your next class, Aurora?" Remus asked. "Transfiguration." Aurora answered. "Ours is Charms." Sirius said. Aurora walked to Transfiguration. 

In Transfiguration, they got to pick their spots so Aurora sat beside Severus because she didn't know any Hufflepuffs and she didn't fancy sitting next to a stranger. They got taught how to turn a toothpick into a needle after an impressive speech about how Transfiguration is a very difficult branch of magic. Aurora didn't make any difference so she got homework like most of the class save for Luke Avery, Severus and a Hufflepuff called Maddie Williams. Aurora quickly went to her dorm to change her books and proceeded to the Great Hall for lunch. She sat with the Marauders. "Did you guys have fun?" Aurora asked them as she sat down between Remus and Sirius. "Yeah..." Sirius answered. "What's wrong with him?" Aurora asked Remus. "He....er ....well, has a.... crush but this person takes him to be....ah... a purist." Remus tried to explain awkwardly.  "Oh....poor Sirius." Aurora said sympathetically. 

On the way to Herbology, a Ravenclaw boy with chestnut hair and deep blue eyes walked up to her and Severus. "Hi, I'm Rister Davis." The boy said. "Aurora Prewett and that's Severus Snape." Aurora said. "Oh, I know who you are." Rister said, his eyes shining. "I actually wanted to have a word with you." Aurora felt puzzled. "Er...sure." she said and followed Rister. "So....er....how do you know who I am?" Aurora asked trying to fill the awkward silence. "My brother is dating you sister." He said. "And your brother is....." Aurora prompted. "Nico." Rister said. Aurora nodded. They walked in silence to the greenhouses. "You know, I think you're really pretty." Rister said. Aurora felt herself blush. "Thanks." She said. 

Aurora went to Charms class by herself because Severus had to stop by the bathroom. She sat beside a red-haired girl that she recognised from her dorm room. Her name was Bella Zabini. Aurora found Charms class rather boring, even though she had quite an aptitude for it. After Charms, there was an hour 'til dinner so Aurora went up to her dorm as the Marauders were nowhere to be found and Severus was with his friend from Cokeworth, Lily Evans. "I think we should get to know each other better." Said Bella. Aurora shrugged in agreement and the other girls also agreed. The other three girls were called Olivia Myers, who had olive skin, black hair and green eyes, Jessica Toyers who was blonde and rather pudgy and Tammy Lodger who was tall and thin and had light brown hair. Soon, Aurora discovered that Jessica liked all the same books that she did and Tammy (who she called Tam) loved Astronomy. So on the way to dinner, Aurora walked with her dorm friends. She sat beside Tam and Jessica. Bella and Olivia sat across from them.
