I woke up the next morning on the floor of Corey's basement. I sat up and looked around me. Corey was asleep on the couch, and Joey and Clown were both on the floor. Wait- Where did Sid go last night? I don't remember Clown dropping him off. Then again, I can barely remember any of last night. I shook Joey awake, since he was the closest to me. He groaned and turned from his back onto his side, facing away from me. "Joey." I said, still shaking him. "What time is it?" he asked while rubbing his eyes. "It's- SHIT! It's almost 10:30!" "Relax Bell, your parents know you're with us." He said as he sat up. "How?" I asked. "Clown got on your phone and called your mom. He told her that you fell asleep over here and asked if you could stay." I sighed with relief. "So what even happened last night? Did I really get that high?" I asked. "Yeah, you did. I don't even know how, you took like one hit!" We both laughed a little.
"Where is everybody else?" I asked. "They all went home." Joey said as there was a knock on the door. "Come in." he yelled quietly. The door opened and Sid came downstairs. "Hey Sid. What are you doing here so early?" I asked. "I got bored. Woke up at 8 to my neighbors cutting down a tree and couldn't go back to sleep." he replied. "That sucks." Joey said. "Yeah. You guys wanna do anything?" Me and Joey looked behind us at Clown and Corey, both still asleep. "Sure. But it's gonna have to be something quiet." I said. "I think that closet over there has a bunch of games in it." Sid said. We all crawled over to the closet and opened the door. "Bingo!" Sid whispered excitedly. "What'd you find?" Joey asked. Sid held up a box that had a Bingo cage in it. "We should play it." he suggested. "No! That thing is loud as hell!" I whispered. Sid just shrugged and put it back on the shelf. "How about Cards Against Humanity?" Joey suggested. "I love that game." I said. "Me too. Let's play it." Sid said.
We shut the closet door and crawled back over to where we were sitting, putting the box in the middle of us. Sid opened the box and pulled out a card. "Um, who said you were going first?" Joey asked. "Me." Sid replied. "After four platinum albums and three Grammys, it's time to get back to my roots, to what inspired me to make music in the first place: blank." he read. Me and Joey both drew a white card. "I got a horde of vikings." I said. "Mine says leprosy." Joey laughed quietly. "You definitely win that one." Sid said as we both handed Joey our cards. Now it was my turn to draw. "How did I lose my virginity?" I read. "Oh boy." I laughed. Joey and Sid both pulled a white card. Joey snickered as he read his card. "Lumberjack fantasies." he said. Both me and Sid tried not to bust out laughing. "Object permanence?" Sid read. "The hell is that?" I grabbed my phone and googled it. "Object permanence is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be seen, heard, or otherwise sensed." I read. "So Joey wins." Sid said. "Yep." I said, throwing the cards at Joey.
"What's going on?" Corey asked from the couch. "Well, good morning sunshine!" I teased, which earned me the middle finger. "We're playing Cards Against Humanity. Wanna join?" Corey shook his head. "I'll just watch. Hold on a second though." He got off the couch and got on his hands and knees. He crawled over to where Clown was laying and cupped his hands around Clown's ear. "SHAWN!" he yelled into his hand. Clown sat up at the speed of light. "What's happening?!" he asked in a panicked voice. "Good morning." Corey said. "You jackass." Clown replied. "Come on, we're watching them play Cards Against Humanity." he said, motioning to where we sat. Both Corey and Clown scooted over closer so they could see the cards. Joey pulled a black card out of the box. "Coming to Broadway this season, blank: the musical." he read. Me and Sid pulled a white card. "Laying an egg." Sid said. I looked at my card and giggled. "Flying sex snakes." I laughed. "Man, I can't wait for those to be on Broadway! They both sound great!" Joey said, sending us all into a fit of laughter. We spent the rest of the morning playing and laughing our asses off.
