I arrived on the other side of the river with my things all intact. I considered myself lucky, but I couldn't find Jake I kept a knife at the ready and moved climbed up a tree near a huge river. I heard the chattering of the same language from before. I was to anxious to climb down.
"Who's there?" A deep voice called from the forest floor. It was in Na'vi. I heard onto the branch and looked down, the height was dizzying from the branch. I pulled back up and began to speak.
"Oeru syaw... Kxoha, za'u oe ftu... txintseng sawtuteyä. Oe lu tawtute.(I am Koha, I am from hell's gate. I am a sky person.)" I said honestly.
"Why have you come here?" He asks.
"Oe... kehe plltxe Na'vi nìltsan."(I... no speak Na'vi good.)
"I will speak you alien language if it means getting you down." He said gruffly.
"Thank you! Uhm, I'm kind of afraid of pain, and I don't know how to get down." I explained carefully.
"What's going on Tangek? Who are you talking to?" A female voice echoed from the forest floor.
"Oh, mom, there's a dreamwalker up in the tree!" The grown man greeted his mother like a child and laughed at my predicament.
"A little help please?"
"It's not so high, just jump!" He called. I shook my head and just let go.
I landed on my back and got winded.
"Ouchie."
———————————
The woman I came to know as Hanite bandaged my wounds before we ran into Neytiri and Jake."It's dark out Hahaw, Tangek, what are you doing with a dreamwalker?"
"What about you and the male?" She ignored the question and brought us along anyway. Soon, Jake was thrown from where he was running. And I came down soon after.
"Ow!" I landed on my back and just stayed there. I heard the galloping of hooves and I sat up. Jake was already up, he cut the ropes on my legs and helped me up, he tried to exit, but more Na'vi emerged from the bushes.
We put our hands up and dropped our weapons, Neytiri dropped with a yell.
"Mawey , Na'viya! Mawey!"(calm, people, calm) Her tail flicked irritantly, "ma Tsu'tey! Kempe si nga?"(what are you doing, Tsu'tey?) She hissed the question. I looked up at the man on the direhorse. He's handsome. I was shocked, he's really handsome. And then he spoke.
"Fayvrrtep fìtsenge lu kxanì!"(these demons are forbidden here.) He grunted.
"Aungia lolu! Tsahikur txele lu!"(there has been a sign! This is a matter for the Tsahik) She defended. He glanced at myself and Jake.
"Pot zamunge."(bring him)

It was a long run, my lungs were failing me and I felt really dizzy. I gave my camera to Neytiri. She's seen them before, she didn't ask what it was and knew how to hold it.Soon, we came upon a huge tree, filled with Na'vi and Banshees. Jake and I were paraded through, with knives to our queues. Children and teens reached out curiously, to which I gave an unsure smile. We made a hole in the crowd and we were stood up at the front.
"Ma sempul, oel ngati kameie."(father, I see you.)
I turned my attention up to the Na'vi adorned in red leaves which rattled when he moved.
"Mefoswiräti, ngal pelun molunge fìtsenge?"(these two creatures, why did you bring them here?) He paced.
I tuned out when I found that I didn't understand them. I did, until-
"It's nice to meet you sir-" Jake lunged out to shake hands with the clan leader.
"Tsaswiräti lonu! Aynga neto rivikx!"(release the creature!) She was powerful, beautiful. She came down the spiral from the floor above, her beaded clothes were draped down her shoulders like a hood-less poncho, "I will look at these aliens." She said in English to her daughter.
"That is mother. She is Tsahik, the one who interprets the will of Eywa." Neytiri spoke. I only know who Eywa is through Grace and Norm's teachings.
"Who's Eywa?" Jake asked. No one answered.
She circled us both. Looking at our queues first, moving onto our tail, and looking us in the eyes.
"What are you called?" She asked us both.
"Jake Sully."
"Kxohane Kìng." I accidentally copied her accent, it's an involuntary thing, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to copy your accent, I have a mental illness."
"You're ill?"
"Not exactly, I am missing something vital to my brain for it to function normally, so I behave differently." I make quotation marks at normally. Normal isn't real, it's just another way for people to put down people who need to be raised up by these "normal, functional" people. She understands and keeps going.
She stabs me in the shoulder, which I wince at the sting, and tastes the blood. She does the same for Jake.
"Why did you come to us?"
"I came to learn." Jake replied. The tsahik looked to me.
"I came for the same, I want to learn." I nodded. She sheathed the needle and continued talking.
"We have tried to teach other sky people. It is hard to fill a cup which is already full."
"Our cups are empty, trust me. Just ask Dr. Augustine."
"She was upset that we weren't scientists." I smile sadly.
"What are you?" She asked flatly.
Jake hesitated, "I was a marine. A... a warrior of the Jarhead clan." Jake finished.
The handsome Na'vi in the back grinned at the challenge, "tsamsiyu pak? Pot tsun oe tspivang nìftue."(a warrior? I could kill him easily!) He raised his bow.
"Kehe!"(no!) The clan leader stopped him.
"You, what are you if not what Grace is?" Tsahik said.
"I," I grabbed my camera from Neytiri, "am a photographer. This box makes a drawing based on what it sees in front of the eye here. It is machine, but it makes very beautiful art when you have a good setting."
"An artist, you mean?" She replied.
I smiled and became sheepish, "yeah, that works.".
"These are the first warrior and artist dreamwalkers we have seen. We need to learn more about the aliens through them." Everyone made noises of agreement and the tsahik turned to the handsome Na'vi named Tsu'tey and Neytiri and gave them instruction on what to do with us. They both hissed at her judgement. And Tsu'tey walked over and grabbed my wrist.
"Come, you must prepare for training." He said in a grumpy low voice.
