After I had left Damon there at Elena's house, I had gone back to the boarding house, grabbing my clothes and shoving them into my bag that Lexi had used. Leaving behind some minor things as I made my way down the stairs and opening the door.

"Leaving?" Stefan asked, popping up behind me. I froze, taking a deep breath.

"Just-I need a break." I told him, not turning around. I heard Stefan let out a sigh.

"Be careful." He told me, not even trying to stop me. "You have my number if you need me, call me." He told me sternly. I nodded, walking out the door and throwing my bag into my car that Stefan and Damon had gotten me as a welcome to the Universe present. It was sweet. A 1937 Cord 812 Sportsman in yellow. I loved it. Climbing into my car, I sped out. I had no idea where I was going, but I knew I had to get out of here for a bit. I couldn't just sit here. I threw my phone to the passenger seat.

I had been on the road for a few hours now. My phone has lite up every 30minutes. As soon as Damon had seen I was gone, he had been calling me. Even took Stefan's phone to see if I would pick up for him. I didn't. I was falling for Damon Salvatore. I couldn't do that. He ends up with Elena Gilbert. He fights for her. The months I had stayed with them, he never really fought for me. He would kiss me, but disappeared. Then he had gone and kissed Katherine, thinking it was Elena. If he truly wanted something with me, then why would he kiss her? he was drawn to her. I knew this. So I left.

I pulled up to a gas station, being in a small town right outside of Illinois. I was heading West. I think unconsciously I heading to my old home. If it was even there in this world. I got out of the car, grabbing my keys and pocketing the credit card Stefan had given me. Grabbing some snacks and drinks. I spot a rack of keychains. You know those annoying ones with your name on them and you spend five minutes trying to find your name and not being able to find it because apparently there are just a million of people out there named Alexa. I spot the one I wanted though. My finger gliding over the tacky flashing keychain. I let a breath out, shaking my head as I grab it and place it on the counter with the other things I had grabbed.

"Is that all for you?" The cashier asked, a flirty smile on his face. I tilted my head at him, biting my lip.

"Unless you're offering something.." I flirted. He rang me up before nodding to the back where the freezer was. I smiled as I followed him. I let him pull me inside, crashing his lips into mine, sloppily if I must say. But you do what you have to do. I weave my fingers into his hair and yank him back, making eye contact with him. "Don't scream and hold still. I'm so hungry." I compelled him as I leaned into his neck, biting down deeply. His blood was like a fast food joint. How can someone literally taste like fat? But I drank from him, just enough to get me through the drive. I pulled back, wiping the small drops of blood from my mouth. "Clean yourself up. You got lucky today. Brag to your friends about the awesome girl you got freaky with in the freezer. But forget what I looked like." I told him as I left the freezer, grabbing my stuff and going back to my car. My phone lighting up again as I start the car. I rolled my eyes, grabbing it.

"Hey this is Lex- can't come to the phone right now-" I spoke into the phone before Damon interrupted me.

"Alexa?! Where are you?!" He demanded, I could hear that he was slightly winded, maybe from pacing? I have no clue.

"I'm at some nice gas station. What do you need, Damon?" I asked him, starting the car as I turn the radio down from Alicia Keys playing.

"Some gas station- You left, Alexa! Just like that. Gone." He shouted into the phone. I let out a laugh.

"What did you want me to do, Damon? Please, enlighten me."

"I don't know- Not Leave?! Come back." He breathed, I leaned my head back against the back of the seat, closing my eyes and taking a breath.

"I can't, Damon." I told him, calmly. "Lexi wasn't supposed to be there anymore. I've been messing things up-"

"I don't care!! You're NOT Lexi." Damon snapped. I shook my head.

"Exactly. Good-bye, Damon." I breathed.

"Wait-" I hung up before he could speak. Pressing the power button on my phone and letting it turn off before tossing it into the backseat of the car. Taking a breath, I touched the keychain on my keys before driving off. The keychain flashing, Damon, across it.
