Kiryu agreed to babysitting Haruto as a favor for Haruka and Yuta, completely forgetting today was the day of his optometrist's appointment. No worries , Haruto is an easy baby. It'll be a cinch. Kiryu arrives at his appointment, Haruto attached to his side and completes his eye exam. His sight is relatively great but he has developed a mild farsightedness, common as he ages. He doesn't intend to wear his glasses often so he doesn't care for style or perks. He just wants some good glasses to be able to see the pages of his grandson's favorite books better. Due to his simplicity, he was able to choose from a decent range of frames and his lens would be finished within the next two hours. Kiryu did have his eye on a pair of glasses that were more square and thicker that reminded him of the vanity specs he wore in his twenties during his real estate years but Haruto grabbed hold of a pair of wired frames that he subsequently dropped and dented, feeling awful that his grandson causing the damage, Kiryu opted for the dented pair instead. Once his glasses are prepared and it's time to test them out, he feels sort of sentimental over having a pair that his very own grandson chose for him.

Majima had been noticing the sight in his right eye slowly worsen over the years but he wasn't a fan of admitting it. What was he even supposed to do? It's not like he could wear a pair of eyeglasses over his eyepatch and he wasn't too keen on displaying his scarred eye for just anyone to see. That was when the idea hit him. What if he got some custom specs designed specifically for his pair of peepers. One regular lens and the other a sunglass lens. It wasn't common but who cared? He couldn't think of one other person he knew that used an eyepatch anyway. It was a little difficult, thinking about parting with a piece of his iconic ensemble- the Tojo Clan history books would be rife with tales of the Mad Dog with a snakeskin coat, black leather pants and gloves and an eyepatch but he was getting to be the age where he could admit that it was just about time to hang it up. Even without the eyepatch, people would know the name of Majima Goro for decades to come. He just wanted to watch baseball games in person again and know exactly what the hell was going on!

Nishiki had been nearsighted for as long as he could remember but glasses were never in the cards for him. He didn't think they were attractive; he didn't think they were cool. Hell, he distinctly remembered laughing at Kiryu when he started wearing vanity specs back in the 80s. That's not to say that he has gone out blind. He's always opted for contacts but that was a secret between him and his sworn brother. Now, he's older, wiser and no doubt coming up on a prescription renewal. The specs market has improved over the years and he's confident that he could find a stylish pair that won't make him nearly as dorky as Kiryu used to. He chuckles at the thought when he passes the racks upon racks of frames on his way to the exam room. His sight has more or less stayed the same from his exam the previous year and as his doctor prepares his script for his usual contacts- he stuns her when he announces that he's thinking about getting glasses this time around. He explains that he still wants the contacts but he also wants to explore his options. He winds up spending far too much time browsing the racks, even sifting through the special order catalog until he finds a pair that he likes enough to settle for... He may stick to the contacts, after all.

Aizawa used to wear glasses in middle and high school but due to his frequent fights, they often got damaged. After a while, the cost for replacements became far too much for his mother to cover on her own and so to avoid burdening her, he opted out of wearing them. It wasn't until he started working as a bodyguard that he realized just how much he'd been neglecting his eye care. One night, he had a dream that he wore an old pair of glasses and his mother cupped his cheeks, cooing at him about how handsome she always thought he looked in glasses. When he woke up the next morning, he was certain that she'd visited him to encourage him to stop putting off his eye care. So, he made his first appointment at the optometrist in years. On the way out, he made a promise to his late mother's altar that he'd take good care of his glasses should he decide to get a pair- and he did. In an effort to uphold that promise, he got a pair of glasses that he swore to himself (and her) that he'd only ever wear at home and he got contacts, specifically for work.
A/N: I photoshopped yakoozy men in glasses and an optometrist's office and then wrote headcanons about it lol
