they huddled in the couch, never seeming to run out of nonsense to talk about, until jisung felt the night going deeper and his eyelids threatening to fall shut, he was indeed exhausted but the urge to stay up and pour more time awake with jeongin felt too important.
he is drifting asleep, turning to jeongin in his arms.
"innie, i'm going to sleep."
"goodnight hyung." jeongin got up from his comfortable position to let go of jisung. they may have kissed earlier. they did kiss and it never happened again. it's as if they're sounding out which path of action each of them is gonna take, or no action would take place
he was a bit disappointed. maybe jisung also wanted it to escalate, maybe he needed that relief but he doesn't want to make that mistake. jisung knows he shouldn't be waiting for it neither do expect something from it. jeongin is just like his past exes minus the love he supposes, he's curious. he's happy that the younger is open. it excites him in some way.
but everything meant nothing.
on the other hand, jeongin knows he shouldn't. yet the way their fingers locked on the way home is what made him unsure, he tipped over his feelings that is getting much more complicated than it should.
he already promised.
he never thought that feelings would be involved. too much comfortability and nervousness taking place at the same time. is there such a thing? if jeongin would really push for more than friendship, jisung would not like that, he'd run away, he has no more room for more feelings than he's letting on, he'll be overwhelmed and will choose isolation.
jisung would avoid him.
jeongin thinks and thinks.
"thank you for today, baby bread." jisung whispered planting a featherlight kiss on top of jeongin's head.
and left for his room.
jeongin was left there standing.
wondering how he'd make it work. ah. jisung was righf after all. For both of his and jisung's benefits. make it as comfortable for both of them. jeongin heard the door click and he instead decided go to his room. he pushed all this thoughts on the back of his skull.
he couldn't sleep that night. it was 3 am he had to get a glass of water thinking that maybe it would help, it's been hours of tossing and turning and he only grew restless. catching a glimpse of the wooden oak where the man he kissed resides, he wanted to knock at jisung's room. an arrangement.
"she and i have talked about it, and just like that, it's gone."
"just like that."
simple. he stood in front of his door silently, not exactly knowing why and what would he do. he did mention an arrangement of sorts. it seemed easy for others. why can't he do the same if he wishes to? what is jisung to him either ways? what does he need jisung for? he doesn't have an exact reason at all, it's threading between the borders of want and need. should he offer up an agreement? it sounded nothing like he'd ever want to be into.
he already did his research, nothing seemed to ease the itch on the back of his skull. he grips at the knob. it wasn't locked at all. he inched it open, the younger wanting a quick glance at the peaceful slumber of his dorm mate.
jisung's breathing falls and rises just like the footsteps that jeongin made, drawing closer. the younger sat on the edge of the bed with jisung's back turned against him, fast asleep and neatly tucked under the blankets. the scent of lavender candles soothing enough and fills the silent air, the window emanating the faint dim lights from the moon-present nightsky. jisung's room has always been like this, familiar and smelled home-y more than it should.
