JENNIE'S POV...
I am Jennie Kim, well, Jennie Ruby Jane Kim. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. I'm eighteen years of age and I'm the only daughter of Ji-yong Kim and Sandara Park-Kim. I have a best friend named Park Chaeyoung or Roseanne Ilaisaane Park aka Rosé. You see, we're not rich but we're also not poor, we do have money though. My mom and dad owns a small restaurant here in Melbourne and it earns enough to support our financial needs. But as I grew up, the restaurant started to have ups and downs lately, especially with a new one just across from ours. So sometimes, we experience bankruptcy and I had to save my allowance to buy my school needs especially when I was only starting in high school.
Rosé though wanted to help me in those times but she and her family also has the same situation we're in. While mine owns a restaurant, her family owns a bakery. Rosé and I met when we were in our elementary days. She was being bullied by some mean girls behind the school and me being me, I kicked the girls' asses and by kick I mean pushing them and running away with Rosé in the process. We became close after that and whenever we see those girls, we always run like hell. We didn't want any trouble so as much as possible we tried to avoid them when they're in our line of sight. Rosé got extended to my class so she was my classmate even if she was a year younger than me. She's smart but I'm smarter. I'm always top of the class and she comes in second but we didn't mind that. All we minded was that we were friends and that she was thankful that she met me.
When highschool came though, many boys admired us for our visuals and that only attracted more mean girls to us. But luckily, we met some good friends there. Like Nayeon, our bunny. She was bubbly, kind, smart and how should say I this... badass. She'll talk back to our teacher and defend us from those mean girls all the while shooing boys off of us. Then there's Dahyun, she was kinda reserved though. Always quiet whenever we're in crowded places, unless she had a few drinks then she'll be down for anything. Lastly, there's Yeri. Yeri's the mean one out of our group. She's always sarcastic and never backs down from a fight. Unlike Nayeon, Yeri wouldn't just talk back but she'll also trash talk our teachers. It always gets her in detention and almost, almost got her expelled. And for the mean girls, she always hits them before she curses at them. A slap here and there before she roars in anger. Rosé and I though, we're the innocent ones. The pride jewels of the group as they say. Because we're always the main target for bullies and admirers, the three always made sure we weren't harmed and fought off the busy bodies bothering us.
When highschool came to an end though, Yeri, Dahyun and Nayeon had to go back to South Korea; their home land. They were only sent here for discipline by their parents but that didn't stop them to rebel though. Although Rosé and I were born in Australia we still have Korean blood in us. Our parents migrated here that's why we didn't have the chance go grow up and experience the scenery Seoul had to offer. The three girls so badly wanted Rosé and I to come with them to SK that they took it upon themselves to apply the both of us to the same University the three of them were gonna attend to. A well known and prestigious University at that.
MK University.
Rosé and I protested to the idea since we didn't have enough money to move and study in SK for college. Sure, we had money but unlike the three girls, we're not as loaded as them. Our parents were already teetering from bankruptcy and moving to SK just to study there will only push it over the edge. So we tried to convince the three girls to just let it be but they were stubborn. They even suggested that we all stay in the same apartment and that Rosé and I don't have to pay rent or anything else. But we can't do that. We can't take advantage of our three rich ass friends.
Luckily, they applied us to the scholarship programs and yes, we got in, somehow. I don't even know how and why we got in. They didn't even interviewed us for our application we just got in like it was nothing. No expenses to be paid by us but it will be paid by MK University itself. Tuition fees, books, supplies, the trip to SK and allowance if needed. It was all free for us just like that. Weird. The well known and prestigious MK University just accepted us as two of their few scholars. But I'm guessing it has something to do with Yeri pulling some strings. After all, she did mention she knew someone close to the owners of the university. She also said that she was close with this person so it's kinda helpful and useful at the same time for her. Hm, I wonder who it is?
