Watching the past (Merlin)

The Mark of Nimueh

With a flash of gold from Lucy's eyes the screen turned on and the memory started playing.

They were in a cave a woman with long brown hair bright blue eyes a velvet red dress standing over a basin of water.

"Wow. She is pretty" Gawain said staring at her.

"Gawain she is a sorceress that has tried to kill Arthur many times," Merlin said with a scowl remembering what happened on the Isle of the Blessed

"What happened to her, she hasn't threatened or tried to kill me for a while," Arthur asked looking over at Merlin with a confused look on his face.

"She is dead," Merlin said with no emotion in his voice or his face.

The group sent him questioning looks but Merlin just waved to the screen.

She formed a clay creature in her hands, she placed the clay creature in an egg with different symbols painted on it. She closed the egg and placed he hand over it, she then started chanting "incantation" the egg started glowing and beating like a heartbeat. Nimueh looked down at the egg with an evil smile on his face. Lowering the egg into the water basin it then travailed through the underground water system to Camelot, it then popped up in one of the city's water supplies. The egg then started to crack.

Nimueh watched as a woman pour some of the water from the pump into a bucket and then a man takes a drink from the pump, Nimueh waved her hand over the basin and started chanting "incantation"

In the lower town, a corpse was lying in the middle of the street, Gaius was bent down next to it to examine the dead man. Merlin was standing a few feet away looking worried "Aren't you scared?" he questioned

"Of what?" Gaius stood up, looking at Merlin.

"That you might catch whatever it is" he through a glance at the corpse.

"I'm the court physician, Merlin. This is part of my job" Gaius kneeled back down; Merlin kneeled down as well "Most of the time there's nothing really to be scared of" Gaius then turned the body over. His skin was white, his veins were blue and his eyes pure white.

"That is creepy," Gawain said with a shiver.

Merlin and Gaius looked at each other in surprise" You were saying?" Merlin asked.

Gaius looked around "People mustn't see this. They'll panic "

Merlin quickly got up and grabbed the sheet and coved the body.

Over in Gwen and her father's small home. Tom was getting ready for work.

"Farther," Gwen said softly, tears coming to her eyes. Elyan looked at the screen with a sad smile on his face he wished he got to see his father again and say sorry for leaving him and Gwen alone. 

"Dad, here's your sandwich" Gwen placed the sandwich which was wrapped in cloth with a pink bow keeping it together.

Tom smiled "Oh" he brought it up to his noise "Mumm, what's in it?" he asked

"It's smoked pigeon. But I'd say there's more smoke than pigeon" 

Tom laughed" You're such a good girl to me"

Gwen picks up a bunch of purple wildflowers "And I've done you some watercress soup tonight"

"Don't tell me, with more water in it than cress?" Tom guesses with a smile on his face.

Gwen laughs as she hugs her father "I'll see you later"

"Okay," Tom said.

Gwen broke the hug and headed to the door. Tom watched her with a smile "Bye"
