In the living room, it was quiet. Most of the family has either went on a hunt or in the garage. The latter was only Rosalie, fixing her car yet again as a distraction to keep her mind off of Eliana's predicament. On the other hand, Edward and Eliana sat on the opposite of each other, a coffee table between them and casually plays a game of chess. One move away, Eliana would lose.

"Have you thought about what I said?" Edward slowly brings up, his dark eyes scanning the board. Eliana made him swore to try and not read her thoughts. He agrees, wanting at least fairness when he wins. Ellie thinks otherwise and is prepared to win.

Edward - a few days ago - told Eliana to embrace what she's feeling. Her thoughts were so loud that night. The way she was having a debate with herself, wanting to get closer to Rose but also didn't want to puncture a nonexisting nerve and drive her away. Love was complicated and already has Eliana on the edge without even doing anything. That was the point. She's doing nothing and it was horrifying.

Just the idea of Rosalie getting tired of waiting for her frightened Ellie. She didn't know why but it did.

"Considering." She mutters, her focus was going elsewhere.

"Why even consider? You two are here, she's waiting and you -"

"- And I am a coward." Eliana finishes for him before using the Knight to knock off a chess piece from Edward's side. "A coward who will visibly win." She grins happily and crosses her arms again on her knees.

"Emmett's competitiveness is rubbing off on you." He declares, tone playfully unhappy. "Like him, his ego gets bruise horribly in the end." Edward took down her King and Eliana rolls her eyes. "Don't think you succeeded in avoiding the subject. You know I'm right."

"Maybe." She lightly shrugs. "But you're not exactly the gifted vampire who can see the future."

"I don't need to be Alice to know."

"If you win this stupid game then I'll listen to what you said. Just stop talking about it right now."

"Challenge accepted."

Eliana lost that game.

It's not like she was overly sorrow of defeat, she was just too much of a nervous wreck. Eliana may have lost her memories but she didn't lose her ability to see through common knowledge. She could see how Alice gets excited when she and Rosalie interacts - even as simple as talking. Or how Edward would push her to go to Rose like now. Eliana felt like she was the different person from the one Rosalie described that day. The day Rose described her. . . she sounded struck in love.
