Chapter 5- Surprises

Ava’s POV

I was at home, getting ready for my date with Justin. He told me we were just gonna ‘chill and be swaggy’

I laughed to myself at the thought of him saying that. I adjusted my outfit, which was jeggings with a white singlet and light blue cropped jumper. I went with black VANS and smiled to myself. I was actually trying to look presentable. Haha. Justin’s words had boosted my self- confidence, but I was still a little insecure. I mean, isn’t everybody. Unless you’re Meghan Fox or Miranda Kerr. Maybe Addison is related to Meghan. I mean, they both have the same last name….

Urgh I’m getting carried away… Justin would be here soon. I decided to watch Pretty Little Liars to pass the time.

Justin’s POV

My phone buzzed again… and it was Selena….again. I groaned out of frustration and answered it.

“What do you want? I’m busy! I have a date!” I spat.

“Baby I’m just trying to talk to my boyf…wait…what?! Date?!” Selena shouted angrily through the phone, which made me smirk. Nice one Justin.

“Yes baby” I emphasized which made her shriek.

“With who?” Selena asked venomously.

“Somebody. Anyway, you should get back to Luke, he’s probably looking for you” I said and faked a laughed.

“As a matter of fact, I’m going on a date with him in an hour”

“Yeah…totally” I said sarcastically.

“Yeah, I actually am. You’ll see it on the news tomorrow, baby” Selena whispered innocently.

“Seriously Selena! Why do you keep doing this to me? Are you trying to break my heart? ‘Cos it sure is working!” I shouted.

“It’s for the best! Being in the public eye will hurt our relationship!” she argued.

“And this isn’t? Selena you’re practically cheating on me with ‘the hate’ as an excuse” I said, tired of arguing. Suddenly, Selena burst into tears over the phone.

“If I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t be with you right now! I would have never looked back after you told me to not let the door hit me on the way out! After you constantly got jealous of me hanging out with anyone! After two years?! If I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t have put up with the constant death threats for so long!” she cried, which made me feel guilty.                 

“I’m so sorry baby. I really shouldn’t have said that. I didn’t mean it” I apologized.

“I forgive you baby. I love you” Selena said, making me smile.

“I love you too. Bye. I’ve gotta go-”

“Wait. You’re still going on that date?” she asked with annoyance.

“Um yeah… you said so yourself. We don’t want the public suspecting any-” I suddenly heard the end tone. She hung up on me! Fuck! Was it my fault? But this was totally unfair because she dates who ever she wants while I have to look like some heartbroken kid.

Selena’s POV

I hung up and turned to Luke, smiling.

“Great acting, I must say. You could have had me fooled” Luke said, kissing me.

“Thanks baby. He’s totally wrapped around my finger now” I stated proudly.

“Wait- I still don’t get the point of you secretly dating him” Luke asked with a mix of confusion and annoyance.

“Revenge baby, revenge. You think I was just going to let him tell me that I wasn’t treating him right and being controlling. I don’t let these things go” I explained.

“But you weren’t, so what’s the big deal?” Luke asked. Luke sure was stupid sometimes.

“Because he embarrassed me! The whole world thought that I was the main reason we broke up. His stupid fans hate me, and they managed to get other idiots to hate me too! Now that I’m going out with you, I’m showing the world that I’m so over him and he’s the heartbroken one the wants me back” I said, smirking to myself at how brilliant my plan was.

“Wait…you’re not using me, are you?” Luke asked, hurt evident on his face.

“No of course not Lukey. I love you” I said and kissed him but rolled my eyes when he looked away. Boys were idiots.
