Antedating the Wizarding Wars of 1970-1981 and 1995-1998 was the Global Wizarding War. This was the reign of Grindelwald and his followers, the Acolytes. Their goal was to abolish the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. Grindelwald believed firmly that the wizarding world should not need to hide from the Muggle world.

Grindelwald strongly had the idealism that magic was something that was granted by not only nature but by a higher power as a gift for only "rare" individuals. After obtaining the Elder Wand by stealing it from Mykew Gregorovitch Grindelwald began his campaign of violence. His power quickly grew throughout Europe, but Great Britain was left unscathed, along with the continent Australia. Specifically the wizarding school there.

Busselton School of Thaumaturgy is located deep under the waters outside of Busselton, Australia. The exquisite school is protected from the Muggles due to an enchantment that blends the bubble-like dome in with the surrounding sea. Busselton was established in the late-18th century (1786) when the first colonizers from Britain brought over their loads of overflowing prisoners. Among those prisoners was a wizard named Connall Auton.

He wanted to explore the lands of Australia to see what magical creatures he could find and practice his magic without any limitations. The waters of Busselton were filled with aquatic creatures so he was immediately drawn to this location. To get to Australia unnoticed by the Ministry, he set fire to one of the statues in front of the palace in London, meaning he would be sent with the colonizers.

When he arrived, he found all sorts of creatures after erasing the memory of the Muggles he traveled with along with the officers in charge. Billywigs in the plains closer to the ocean that contained plenty of flowers. Plimpys that would rest in the shallow edges of Busselton's waters, waiting for someone to come swimming along so they could bite their toes for fun. Shrakes that trudged along the deep trenches of the southern Atlantic. Ramoras of many different sizes explores the coasts of Western Australia.

Auton was fascinated by the creatures there, especially by the Antipodean Opaleye, one of the rarer Dragons that ever existed. They resided in the mountainous regions between Busselton and Dunsborough. The population of the Opaleyes in that area was 2, a male and a female. Being a very territorial dragon, they claimed a wide variety of land but they blended in with the mountains and sandy shores.

Watching Nature unfold before him, Auton decided he should share this land with the other wizards instead of hiding there alone and enjoying it by himself. After taming both Opaleyes, he realized they would be the perfect protectors of an area, along with the Shrakes and Ramoras.

The creature he was infatuated with was a human female named Allyra Gray. Her eyes represented her last name by how much they symbolized the moon's silver rays. In Auton's eyes, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He was flabbergasted when he found out she was a witch and her parents were Muggles, but he didn't see blood type as an issue if love was involved.

With Allyra's help, Auton managed to tame quite a few beasts in the area and befriend them. The creatures' populations grew immensely and it was now a safe environment for all of them. The Muggles were too scared to traverse the deep waters so the beasts lived peacefully. With the help of magic, a long pier was created off of the main coast. It was sturdy and able to withstand tornadoes and supercells along with the heavy thunderstorms.
