This duo would surely go on to do great things. Terrible, but great.

They finished their vacation and freedom from the orphanage rather quickly which was rather bothersome to them. They dreaded the thought of having to go back to the orphanage and deal with the kids, but they wouldn't have to deal with the others for a while. The main perpetrators were wiped clean. They were like mannequins who had a human system of daily life; a cycle on repeat.
A month had passed and they still didn't speak. Not to anyone. Tom was pleased with how he handled things but he was still wondering how Sophie knew what he did. He did it in a secluded area away from anyone else, yet she said she heard everything. She even wanted to see their expressions. He was curious about both of them. How he was able to travel to the cave. How the bodies appeared in the water. And how he got out of the cave.

Sophie didn't know what she saw when she heard them scream. There were only flashes and echoes of their screams. The dark, secluded area had many highlights that she was able to make out. The sharp rocks and eroded edges. She wanted to fully watch what happened but she only received minor flashes. Her head hurt after she tried to listen too much and she knelt in pain. When she used her head too much this always happened.
The month did go by incredibly fast but this was due to no one messing with the duo. Since no one was messing with them, their time went idly by and they spent most of the time inside. Studies began to bore them, especially Tom. They had just done the basics over and over since no one else in the orphanage needed a higher level of learning.
Sophie was laying her head down on Tom's desk as he was reading the book they'd shared since they were 4. Sophie was exhausted for no reason and fell asleep while crossing her arms and resting her head on them. It looked as if she didn't have a care in the world, which she technically didn't. The cold necklace around her neck woke her up when it fell and the cold symbol met her collarbone. Her eyes shot open and Tom was surprised by her sudden movement.
"Any good dreams?" Tom asked while scooting over on the bed for her. Sophie stood up and sat down next to Tom, cuddling her knees up to her chest. Tom closed the book and placed it between them.
"I don't know. I never remember my dreams. I never have," Sophie said as she leaned her head back against the bricked wall.
"Don't lie. You told me about your dream before," Tom said as he crossed his arms and turned towards her.
"That wasn't a dream I had when I was sleeping. That was a dream for my future... our future..." Sophie mumbled the last bit and turned her head towards the window to see the sun begin to fade in the distance. The dinner bell then rang on queue and the duo began to leave the room.
"So, want to inform me what the dream was again?" Tom said with a smirk as he started walking down the stairs. Sophie was hesitant to speak about it since it was an awkward dream.
"I... I wanted to go on adventures with you to show how great we are to other people. Make the other people feel bad for how they treated us. Revenge..." Sophie said, mumbling once more. Tom turned his head back at her and raised an eyebrow.
"Revenge?" Tom paused, "I like the sound of that. To make them grovel. In fact," he paused again as he ran up a few steps up to get to Sophie's side, "It makes me want to live forever. With you..."
Sophie giggled at the thought of Tom being vulnerable in those few moments and began running down the stairs, "Last one there has to put the trays away!" She then proceeded to rush down the stairs, not paying attention to where her feet were landing. Tom was catching up to her fast due to having longer legs.
