Time passed, and for quite some time I didn't see Ochaco.
Can't say I wasn't curious, but I had other things I needed to focus on, like finding a school for Eri to attend, now that her Quirk was beginning to show up at a faster rate than before, she needed education on how to develop it safely.
As time passed by, and my eighteenth began approaching, I got more desperate in my attempts to find somewhere for her to attend.***
On my way back from work about three days from my eighteenth I was taking the train from Gifu Prefecture back to Mie Prefecture.
"Excuse me" I heard what sounded like a man to the side of me.I turned round to see a man with black slacks, shoes, and a black white-buttoned shirt with pulled up sleeves, that had bushy 'feather-like' shoulder pads.
He also had a white belt around his waist, with white suspenders.
I most definitely recall his short dark brown hair and his gold coloured eyes, although his most notable feature would be his black, red and yellow 'plague-doctor' mask.I remember instinctively blinking once before saying "yeah?"
He responded in kind before asking me if the seat next to me was taken.
I simply told him no and offered it to him, which he accepted in turn.
He told me to let me know if sitting next to me disturbed me in any way, and that he would happily move if that was the case.
I told him that it was fine, then asked why he thought it would disturb me.
That's when he told me that he was the current head of both the Shie Hassaikai and the Yakuza!
That's when I realised what he meant by 'disturbed', but I followed up by saying that it's still fine. And so the train ride went on, at some point we got into a more in-depth conversation.
I found out that his name was: Kai Chisaki, although he didn't really like it so he went by the name of his Quirk usually: Overhaul.
He also said that he had two close friends within his organisations: Tenko Shimura and Geten, who went by: Tomura and Iceman respectively.
In return, I told him my name: Izuku Midoriya, however I didn't really have a nickname, or any childhood friends really, the closest thing I had that resembled a friendship was my relationship with the Mr. and Mrs.Uraraka, maybe their daughter, but most definitely my little sister. He said he was sorry that my childhood didn't allow for many bonds to be forged, but in some ways, that in itself could be a blessing in disguise.
I asked him what he meant by that, which he then replied: "Well now you'll be sure to put more effort in forging those bonds, no matter the relationship, you'll put more value in the relationships you make from now on."
As we reached Mie Prefecture station I got up to leave, when Overhaul turned to ask: "oh by the way, I forgot to ask, what Quirks do you and your sister possess?"That's when I replied: "Well I'm actually Quirkless, but Eri on the other hand, well, we're not exactly sure what to call it yet, but she can cause living things to return to a previous state."
Overhaul looked like he was thinking, before saying "Well how about, say: Rewind?"
I perked up after that saying "Rewind, yeah, that's great."
Overhaul replied with "well keep your head up, and see you soon."
I waved goodbye as the train left and began my journey back home. When I saw Eri I let her know all about my conversation with Overhaul and his suggestion for the name of her Quirk, which she accepted right off the bat.
Funny thing is, I just couldn't stop feeling as if I'd somehow heard his voice somewhere before, I just didn't know where.
Both me and Eri were the happiest we'd been in years, however, we'd soon have both our futures changed drastically in three days.***
Three days went by, and finally, my eighteenth birthday had come, so to start with, for the first time in a long time, I took a day off work to take Eri to officiate her last name as: Midoriya.
Once that was done we took a train to the Gifu Prefecture to get something to eat, she enjoyed it, but my true intention was to bring her to the burial site of her parents, which was our next stop.
I explained where we were, and although a little hesitant at first, as soon as I told her that I'd be by her side no matter what happens, she decided to go in without holding my hand, she really was braver than I was.
