Chapter 9: First Date?

Kara Pov:

"Kara?" He asks me, and I look up at him, raising my eyebrows. "Do you have a boyfriend?"
...

"Michael, You just met me!" I exclaim. "I could be a cereal killer! Or just a total bitch! Plus it wouldn't be really professional, as we work together." I blurt out. I regret it immediately, I don't want to hurt his feelings. But I do have a point.

"Kara," Michael says calmly, "do you have a boyfriend?" He repeats. I look him in the eyes, and shake my head. He smiles then, so wide that I wonder if it hurts his face. I can't help but smile a little myself, but then I remember my job.

"Michael. I don't want to lose my job." I start, my smile fading. Michael doesn't appear to hear me. He just keeps looking at me with a stupid grin on his face. "Michael." I repeat, "You barely know me."

"Then how about we get to know each other. I ask you something, you answer and then ask me something." He's still smiling, and I can tell he won't take no for a answer. "Okay Michael, but just to be clear, I don't want to date you." Michael nods, but doesn't stop smiling. I wonder what's going on in his funny little head.

"Alright, I get to ask you anything." Michael says, smirking. I nod and dread agreeing to this. "What's your favorite color?" He asks it like it's extremely personal, and I laugh a little, before whispering secretly, "Silver." He looks taken aback. "Silver?! That, Kara, is not a color." Now it's my turn to be offended.
"Michael Clifford! How dare you?! Silver IS a color." We argue for a little longer, before I remind him of our game, and ask my question.

"Michael, do you dye your own hair?" I've always wondered this, because his hair honestly looks incredible 24/7. He laughs before answering. "Yes, yes I do, and I spend far too much time on it. Now my turn, Kara. What's your favorite color I've dyed my hair?" I don't answer at first, because I'm not sure how creepy I should be. "I'd say the brownish dirty blonde you wore to the MTV awards, but I'm loving the red just as much."
I finally say, avoiding the names the internet uses for his hair. (Mustard Mikey was my all time favorite) and then I think of my next question, and i pray to God he says yes. "Michael Gordon - yes I know your middle name, I'm a fan - Clifford, will you do me the honor of dying my hair?" I get down on my knees as I say this, and Michael and I are laughing all the while. "Yes, it would be my pleasure." Michael says at last, we agree that we will go back to the guys hotel room after our first session and dye my hair.

We talk and talk for hours. I wish that we didn't work together, and that he wasn't in a band. I wish we could've bumped into each other in a little cafe and fallen in love. I wish I could get to know the real Michael Clifford without my expectations of him getting away.

When you follow someone on the internet, you see only what they want you to see. I wish I didn't expect Michael to be exactly who he was with the press, because I don't want to be let down or hurt.

Finally, we decide to call it a night. Michael and I split a cab back, and the second I step out of the car I can't wait for our next session so that I can see him again.

Michael POV:

"I'm going to get that girl." I say as I enter my hotel room. "I'm going to get her to fall in love with me." Luke, Calum, and Ashton look up at me. I nod to them, and repeat myself, "I'm going to get Kara to be my girlfriend."
They all stare at me like I'm crazy, and then Luke speaks up, "First of all, she's way out of your league."
Ashton nods, "Sorry, mate."
Then Calum chimes in, "Plus she kind of works with us now, and I don't think John would be cool with that."
They look at me for a response, so I shrug and say again, "I'm going to do it, I'm going to make Kara fall madly in love with me." They all roll their eyes, and Ashton wishes me luck. Then we sit down and act stupid as usual.

sorry this chapter was a bit short
