The young woman before me looked at me in disgust, slowly looking me up and down, left brow raised.

"Well," she demanded imperiously.

"I have," I begin hesitantly.  "I just thought, given how powerful she---that is you---are said to be, you'd be much older..."

Her dark brown eyes narrowed at me, black nails drumming against her leather clad thigh.  "I'm doing this for Flo, not you.  She's too good for you, you know.  You've changed her, and not for the better," she adds suspiciously.

"Well, she's changed me as well.  Love does that"

"Hmm..."

She flicked her silky black curls over her shoulder, eyeing me suspiciously.  "Don't make me regret helping you," she hissed.  "If you're playing with her, if you hurt her," she trailed off, hands sparking with a mix of white, indigo and violet sparks.  She clenched them time, knuckles white, no doubt her nails leaving crescent shaped scars in their wake.

Taking a few deep breaths with her eyes closed, she visibly began to relax, shoulders slumping, then straightening once more.  Her eyes flashed open once more so suddenly that I was startled.  Only her eyes glowed with a mix of blue and violet, the pupils white, as her skin glowed like copper from her power attempting to break free.

I unconsciously backed away from the blatant display of raw power, hands in front of me.  Whether it was a silent plea or a futile attempt at protection, even I couldn't say.

"This will be your only warning," she hissed, her voice booming and crackling with her power.

I shrunk from her at the not-so-subtle threat, audibly gulping.

"U-understood," I whispered.

"Excellent," she chirped, once more returning to her former appearance, as if it had all been in my head.  Perhaps it had been.  "Now; down to business!"

I was shocked at her change in demeaner.  Surely there was someone else I could turn to for help.  Anyone would do really.

"Now," she began as she sunk into the soft cushions of the recently vacated couch.  "Tell me everything."

She made the shape of some sort of rune with her left hand, a trail of burning hot white sparks left in its wake.  A cloud of white smoke appeared as the rune sparks began to coalesce near the center of the the ball of smoke.

I watched in fascination as the smoke and sparks merged to form something solid; a rock crystal and silver tea set, clearly antique, intricately carved all over with strange glowing runes.  She brought the cup to her mouth, pursing her lips slightly as she gently blew at the steaming substance in the cup.

"Well," she demanded, dark eyes snapping to mine once more.  "I haven't got all day you know.   Sit,"  she barked, carving another rune into the air.

The next thing I knew, it felt like a large, invisible hand was shoving me backwards until I collapsed into the chair behind me.  Letting out an annoyed huff, I hastily straightened my clothes, fluffing my skirts as I sent an icy look her way.

"Oh, none of that," she laughed coldly, waving a dismissive hand my way.  She would regret this one day, I thought bitterly.

I did need her help for the moment however.

Taking a deep breath, I straightened my back as I warily eyed the young woman before me.

Her dark curls were a little longer than shoulder-length, the bottom more curly than the roots.  There seemed to be natural highlights and lowlights running through her hair; different shades of black, brown and dark red randomly peeking through the dark locks, glinting as the sun peeked from behind the clouds.

I was really quite lucky with the stroke of luck that I had with Leila's old pack being attacked as they had.  No, I had nothing to do with that, even if everything had played into my hands.  The other two Alphas had taken most of the pack to help; their Beta, nearly all of the warriors, their said mates.

If they hadn't messed up so badly, they would have taken Leila with them.

But they had, especially after I had...interfered.

They had foolishly left her in the hands of their fool of a brother.  I can't say why they had trusted him so much with their mate, particularly since they knew that I had been having an affair with Romulus ever since he had returned back home.

They had the foresight to leave someone else to watch over---unfortunately for them, it was my father.  How thick were they?

Like nearly all the men in my life, I had him firmly wrapped around my finger.  It helped that he was power-hungry, I suppose.

Shaking my head, I returned my attention to Lucrezia.  What had she asked?  Oh, yes...

"I gave Romulus and Leila their potions to close to the time I...laid...with Romulus," I muttered.

She snorted at that.  "Right, laid," she mumbled.  "How long did you wait," she demanded, returning to business.

I mumbled my response so even I couldn't understand what I had said.

Clearly unimpressed, she shook her head at me.  "You didn't, did you," she accused.

"I did!  I...I waited seven hours...about," I mumbled, face flaming with shame.

She tsked in disapproval, head shaking so that her curls bounced, almost seeming to dance around her before settling around her shoulders once more.  "It's almost as if you want to bed him, like you anticipated it," she accused, eyeing me carefully.

I kept my face blank.

"Well, what's done is done.  What are the side affects?"  she demanded with a smirk as she  settled back in her seat, one leather-clad leg folding over the other as she took a dainty sip from her steaming cup before waving her hand so that a gold and marble coaster appeared before her on the table set between us.

I took a deep breath.  It would all be over soon, I assured myself.

Then everything would be as it should have always been.

With that thought in mind, I began to list everything, detailing everything thoroughly.

A/N: What do you think will happen next?

What do you think of Lucrezia?  Do you trust her?

Who's perspective do you like reading from best?
