"Dazai, what is this place?"

"It's a restaurant, my dear."

"It's so..... Fancy."

"I thought it would be a good place to spend the evening with you."

We walked closer, coming up to the doors that were held open by some well dressed men. Dazai led me to a waiting stand, where we were greeted by a young woman.

"How can I help you today?" She spoke to Dazai, taking note that I was too busy looking around at the interior of the building.

"I have a reservation at 8 p.m, for two." He calmly said.

"Alright, I found one for Osamu Dazai, is that correct?" The lady questioned, Dazai only nodding with a hum in response.

"Right this way." Another waitress led us up some stairs to a table with a window seat. The view was gorgeous, I had never seen anything like it. There were so many lights from the city, scattered throughout with some entirely dark areas to create a natural painting.
We took our seats, Dazai pushed my seat in for me as I sat down, then took his seat across from me.

"What can I start the both of you off with to drink this evening?" The waitress asked. Dazai gestured for me to go first.

"I'll just take a sweet wine, I'm not worried about the brand, just something sweet. And an iced water on the side please." I smiled at the waitress, only getting a courtesy smile in response. She turned her head to Dazai as he spoke.

"I'll take your best whiskey." Dazai smiled at the waitress then at me.

"I'll be back shortly with those then." The waitress then walked off, coming back almost as soon as she left, setting the drink glasses and containers on the table.

"Do you still need time to decide on the meal?" She started pouring the drinks into the glasses.

"Yes, we do." Dazai answered for the both of us.

"I'll take my leave then." She bowed then went off to presumably help another table.

"I didn't know you liked wine, [Y/N]." Dazai commented, directing my attention towards him.

"I'm not much of a drinker so I just go for sweet wines at fancier places to not look so out of place. I just some sort of sweet wine, because I only really like the sweet ones. I get the water as well and drink that the most." I replied.

"Is that so. It sounds like you're used to coming to fancy restaurants and events." Dazai said, taking a sip of his whiskey.

"You caught me. I grew up with a good bit of money in my family, and we used to go to expensive events at least once a week. I don't do that so much anymore now that I'm on my own, it's just not the same." I replied, meaninglessly stirring my water with the straw as I reminisced.

"So you have money, and you choose to live in that tiny apartment?" Dazai asked, now looking at the items on the menu.

"Yeah. As it is, I always have a mess in there so I thought it would at least be easier with a small area to make less mess. And that's exactly what I've done." I answered, now looking at the options from the menu as well.

"Hmm. I think I'll have a plate of Fugu. I hear if they don't cook it right, it could kill you, not the ideal cause of death. I don't think you could even consider dying from it as a proper suicide." Dazai seemed as enthusiastic as ever about death and his suicide. I internally rolled my eyes.

'He's acted the most normal I've ever seen him and now he brings that up? I guess that won't ever change.'

"I guess I'll have the Kujira, I haven't had it since I last saw my mother." I noted.
