Ash woke to the sound of something crashing, then some kids yelling. He quickly bolted from the room to the source of the commotion, only to find himself standing in the middle of the pizzeria surrounded by kids and adults. A banner was hanging across the roof, with the words, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH!!!, written in neon orange paint. "Surprise!!!" Everyone suddenly yelled in unison. Ash stood there speechless.
"How did y'all...? When did you..? Wha..." Ash mumbled. Suddenly, tears started to form in his eyes, and he ran from the room.
"Was it something we said?" Bonnie asked Freddy.
"I have no idea Bonnie." Freddy replied.Mike walked up to Freddy, Bonnie and Chica. "How much do you guys know about Ash?" He asked them.
"Not much. He's young, lives alone, drives a dirt bike. That's about it." Chica said.
"And he knows how to use a gun." Bonnie added."True. Do you know about his past? What about his family?" Mike asked.
"Nothing about that actually." Freddy replied. The whole group looks at Mike, waiting for an explanation. Mike sighs.
"When Ash was 15, he lost both his parents. His mother died, was robbed and shot 3 blocks from their house. After his mother died, Ash's father taught him how to defend himself. Gun training, even hand-to-hand combat. Later that same year, his father passed away from a heart attack. Ash couldn't bear it and lost it. He was later taken to a juvenile house. He stayed there till he turned 17, when he left and bought himself his own place to live. He's been living in that same apartment since he left. The thing his, his mother was killed on his birthday, and his father on the 5 month anniversary of her death. That's why Ash ran off, cause no one has ever celebrated his birthday with him since he has no family left." Mike told them sadly.
"Oh wow.." Bonnie whispered.
"Should we go apologize to him?" Chica asked.
"Nah, just leave him be for now. He'll be fine in a few minutes. Hopefully." Mike said, trying to put trust in those words.
Ash sat in the security office. Both doors were closed, and he wouldn't let anyone in. He buried his face into his arms and let tears fall down his face silently, as they hit the floor, another one was right behind it. There was a knock on one of the doors. Ash looked up and saw that it was Bonnie."Go away Bonnie, I don't want to be bothered!!" He yelled at her.
"Ash please let me in. No one deserves to be alone on their birthday. Not even you." She replied.
Ash looked at her for a few moments, then opened the door. Bonnie walked over to him and gave him a hug. He hugged her back, then started to cry even more, hugging her tighter. She slowly started to pet his hair.
"Shush, shush. Don't cry now. It's ok, Bonnie's here now, it's gonna be alright." She said softly.
Ash slowly stopped crying, and eventually just sat there and let Bonnie continue to hug him."Thank you Bonnie." He whispered.
"It's no big deal. Why don't you come back out and have some cake with the rest of us?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah just give me a few more minutes." Ash said to her. Bonnie got up and left the office. Ash sat there for a few minutes, steadying his breathing and calming down a bit more. He noticed a duffel sitting on a chair in the corner of the room, curious of what it was, he walked over and examined it. It was one of his duffel from his apartment, but he hadn't brought it with him. There was an envelope on top of the duffel, and Ash opened it slowly. "I came in and saw you had fallen asleep. So I had a friend help me get inside your apartment and I brought you some clothes. I hope they fit. See ya tonight love." It read. Ash could tell it had been from Foxy. He sat the letter down and unzipped the duffel. Inside was some red shorts with a black stripe down the sides, a muscle shirt, a green USMC shirt, and a pair of black socks, and Ash's security hat. He smiled and laugh. He closed the doors and moved to a spot where no one could see him through the windows either. He quickly changed into the new clothes and placed the old ones back inside the duffel. He slipped his phone and keys into his pockets, put on his hat and opened the doors and went to join the others. He decided to pass Pirate Cove on the way back and stopped at the curtains.
