The Disney Divas

Chapter 1- Leah's POV

My mind was racing. I couldn't believe that I, Leah Stevenson, got picked to attend the Walt Disney World college program. As I walked down the immaculately groomed sidewalk, I was amazed by how beautiful it was. On my left was the backside of the apartment building (with balconies for most rooms and patios for floor level apartments) and on my right was a pristine, blue lake with a fountain in the middle. I hope they have a pool, because it's so much hotter here in Orlando than it is in North Carolina. I hauled my heavy bags down the sidewalk until I saw the entrance to my dorm hall. I opened one of the double doors and stepped in. 

The lobby was almost empty. I wasn't surprised, considering how I was here a week early to set up/decorate the apartment. I walked up to the welcome desk. There was a woman behind the desk who looked like she was in her thirties. "Hi, I'm Liz. I'm assuming you're here for the college program?" She smiled at me. "Yes, I am here for the college program," I replied. "In that case, I'll be your dorm manager. What's your name, hon? I'll get your information for you." I told her my name, and she quickly opened up a huge file cabinet and started rifling through papers. "Samuels......Saxton.....Stevens...... Here we are! Stevenson." She pulled put a thick stack of papers and started handing some to me. 

"Here's your handbook. It will tell you everything you need to know. Rules, hours, etc. Here's your activities guide, your map of the dorm grounds, your maps of the parks, your hour log, and here's your dorm information." Liz looked at the pamphlet before handing it to me. "It looks like you have a 4 bedroom apartment, and you're sharing it with 3 other girls. Room 368, third floor. Here's your key! If you need anything, feel free to ask." I nodded and smiled. "Thanks so much Liz." I picked up my heavy bags and started toward the elevator. "See you soon Leah! Good luck!" Liz waved goodbye to me. "Thanks! Talk to you soon!"  

I walked into the elevator and the doors shut. I reached down to press the button for the third floor and smiled. The buttons were shaped like Mickey heads. I pressed the one that said "3" and the elevator dinged and jolted into movement. I looked at the map Liz had given me and located Room 368. Before I knew it, the doors opened at my floor. I picked up my duffle bag and my giant suitcase and started out of the elevator. I had to walk for a bit before I got to our room. Every room had a different color door, a small lamp, and a dry erase board. The room numbers where metal, in the original Disney font. When I finally reached our room, I nervously pulled out my key. Our door was light blue, which was my favorite color. I took it as a good omen. I opened the door and walked inside. I looked to my left and saw the kitchen. It had brown cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. I was impressed! Sitting on the kitchen table was a sheet of rules, a spare key, and a basket of yummy snacks. There was a note from Liz welcoming us.  

I turned around and started to explore the living room area. There was a very comfortable couch, a floor lamp, side table, and flat screen TV. I opened up the TV cabinet, and it was already stocked with lots of Disney movies. The rooms were both very well decorated and chic. I walked down a hallway, which had 6 doorways in it. I walked into each of the bedrooms, and they were all equal size. I picked a room with a lot of windows at the end of the hall. The carpet was oh-so-soft. The walls were beige, and there was no furniture. All I had to do was wait for the movers to come with my furniture, and I could start decorating. In the meantime, I opened up both of my huge suitcases and started unpacking my clothes, shoes, and makeup and putting them in the closet attached to my room. I hoped my new roommates arrived soon, because its pretty lonely here by myself.
