"I am oh so scared," everest shook.
"Don't be oh so scared," zuma said and placed his anthropomorphic hand on everest's anthropomorphic shoulder. "We can handle this. Together."
Everest gave zuma a smile that made zuma blush wildly.
"If you two are done with the flirting, we have ghost hunting to do," marshall chortled.
Everyone laughed except for everest and zuma, who were both blushing wildly.
"Alright, alright, they are embarrassed enough," sky said and gave everest a look that said 'sorry 'bout that.'
Everest and sky had been besties for a long time. They both knew each other's crushes and always loved to tease each other about it. The pups stood in front of a gigantical haunted mansion. They were shaking in their pup boots, except for their leader, marshall.
"You guys might as be doing the pup pup boogie with all that shaking you're doing," marshall smirked. "Come on. This is our mission. We must do our best."
"B-B-B-B-B-But...ghooooooosts!" Rubble cried and began to sob.
The pups were all shocked. Rubble seemed a bit off when they found out what their mission was, but now he was really off. Sky's heart broke a little seeing Rubble cry like that. But why? She liked chase...
"Rubble, I'll stay with you when we go inside," Sky offered Rubble her anthropomorphic paw.
There was five minutes of them staring into each other's eyes before Rubble took sky's anthropomorphic hand and stood up on two legs.
"Actually, sky, that's a good idea," marshall stated.
"What is?" sky asked. Sky asked.
"We should have partners in case we get lost or split from the pup group. I...will go with chase."
Chase looked up from the grass and made eye contact with marshall. For a pup who was very confident, chase was silent this whole time. This made marshall concerned since the two were so close.
"Zuma and everest may go together since they are the last people," marshall went on.
Zuma and everest glanced at one another and then bashfully looked away. Marshall had talked to zuma before this mission and zuma told marshall that he wants to ask everest out after the mission. So marshall wanted zuma to hang with the everest.
"Let us go inside now," Marshall stated before leading the pups to victory.
They walked up to the creaky wooden door and Marshall stood up on two legs to open the door.
"Do we need a k--" sky began to say but was cut off by the creaky wooden door swinging open all by itself.
"G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-Ghost...!" Rubble shouted at the top of his lungs. "The ghost opened the door!!!!"
"It was the wind," Marshall said. "Ghosts aren't real. Now come on. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can leave."
The pups slowly walked into the house, careful not to walk on any broken glass on the creaky wooden floorboards. Chase took in the scenery before staying close to marshall. Chase wasn't scared but he wasn't having a good time either. Marshall took note of chase's body language and decided that it was a good thing he chose him to be his partner.
"Chase and I will go down to the basement," Marshall said.
"The basement!?" sky exclaimed. "Oh, do be careful!"
    "We will. Right, Chase?"
But Chase didn't say anything. What is going on with him? Sky and Marshall both thought.
"Where do Zuma and I go?" everest asked before blushing wildly.
"You guys will take this floor," marshall said, snapping out of his trance. "Then rubble and sky can take the floors above this one."
"Wh-Wh-Wh-What if there's an attic???" Rubble asked, shaking like he was doing the pup pup boogie.
"Then you must go in it. I believe in you, Rubble. And I know sky does too."
Sky looked at rubble, batting her eyelashes. How could Rubble say no to her? He couldn't so he quietly nodded.
"If anything bad happens, which I doubt, then press the paw print on your paw patrol watch and we will come running," marshall said. "If you find anything, press the paw print on your suit and we will come running. Good luck."
Zuma and everest took each other's anthropomorphic hands and walked away. Sky and rubble were very careful walking up the creaky wooden stairs. Marshall and chase were the only ones left.
"Chase, are you okay?" marshall asked, finally showing some emotion.
Chase only nodded, not saying a single bark.
"Okay. The basement entrance is this a way."
Marshall and chase walked away. But little did they know, someone was watching them from the curtains.
"Why are they in my house?" the mysterious person asked no one. "I must get them out of here."
And the mysterious person took off, flying through walls and the ceilings.
