Two updates in a day <3  -Misha

Having thoroughly showered off, we both lay curled up together in bed, empty plates lying on the bedside indicating our late dinner. I kept my face snuggled into Dimitri's neck, breathing in his scent whilst he rubbed his calloused hands along my abdomen, earning a multitude of purrs and soft coos from me.

Smiling and pressing quick kisses to my face, Dimitri began quietly "When do you plan to return to work..?" I could hear the nerves and contempt in his voice, which made me only snuggle closer to him "I'm going to work part-time from now on" I reassured my alpha, hugging him and grinning into his neck "After all, the bar is no place for an expecting omega" Dimitri still was hesitant but understood my need to work as well, snuggling me tight in his arms as he chuckled, the deep rumbles making me purr a bit louder "Mmh, indeed it is not my love~"

We had no idea if I was in fact pregnant or not, but the both of us seemed to already hold hopes for such things. I wasn't on birth control and we hadn't used protection the past week, so things seemed rather plausible. Feeling fingers run through my long platinum locks, I yawned and was quick to fall asleep, pressed against my alpha in pure bliss.

I awoke the next morning to a cold bed and a loud conversation from the next room, a bit disgruntled, the bedside alarm read '4:02 am' I was confused and nervous, pulling a blanket around my barely clothed body- I had only worn panties and Dimitri's shirt to bed- and plodded down the hall, peering into my alpha's office. He sat in his desk chair, leaned back, brows pinched and a stressed look on his face. He leaned back over and rubbed his head, still clad in pajama pants and a loose t-shirt. The person on the other end of the phone jabbered on a bit more before hanging up, leaving my alpha cussing angrily. 

Dimitri only noticed me once I slid into his lap, quietly rubbing his tense shoulders and allowing my lavender scented pheromones to permeate the room. He sighed and let his head drop on my shoulder, hugging me tight "I'm sorry for waking you up, dear" I only yawned and shook my head, pressing a kiss to his temple "What happened my love?" Dimitri looked upset as he muttered quietly into my neck "They adjusted my hours- a new higher up or something decided so. I have to go in to work at 5, I don't know when I'll be home."

To say I wasn't upset would be a lie, but I knew that there was little I could do about it- after all, Dimitri was important to the company, he'd worked at SunTech Labs since he was 18. Now being 34, he not only made good money but saw his job as his life's work, developing vaccines and various medications. Even if he were to leave for another job, he'd feel like he was betraying what he's pledged to do. 

Rubbing my face into his neck, I teared up a bit, upset at the prospect of my alpha working long hours and from what I heard, unpaid overtime. Sensing my distress, he rubbed my back, hugging me tight as I cried quietly into his shoulder, perhaps it was overdramatic, but being alone all day and worrying for my alpha made my heart split in two. Looking up at him, I wiped my tears "Can I at least have your lunch schedule so I can eat with you?" I asked quietly, hope evident in my raspy voice. 

Smiling, Dimitri nodded, and sent a quick message to what I assume was my phone. I grinned and hugged him, resting my head against his. We sat like that for awhile, basking in each other's embrace before I peered at the clock reading '4:25 am' pressing a kiss to my alpha, I slid off the chair and held his face in my hands "Go shower and get ready, I'll make breakfast" I whispered, kissing him one more time before slipping off to cook, a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, and home-made biscuits I'd made the night before. I felt his scent envelope me and his arms wrap around my waist while I flipped the last few eggs, his nose pressing into my throat, earning a quiet chuckle from me. "Good morning my sweet love" I cooed, sliding the eggs onto his plate and wriggling from his embrace, placing the plates at the same spot on the table. Seeing his questioning look, I poured coffee for him and guided my alpha to the seat, slipping into his lap and snuggling into him with a smug grin "Ah, I see what you're doing, my cheeky omega~" I purred and laughed, sipping at my milk as he fed me a few bites of eggs and bacon, as well as quickly scarfing down his own plate.

In no time, it was 5:00 and he had to leave, the sun barely peeking over the mountains, it's few rays leaving tiny orange streaks in the otherwise dark and starry sky. Handing him a large travel mug of green tea, I kissed my alpha a tearful goodbye, being sure to hand him the lunch box I'd prepped, just in case he got home too late for dinner. We stood hugging each other for a few minutes before he finally left, his car pulling off into the lamp-lit road. 

I scurried back inside away from the cold and locked the door, sitting on the couch in the empty house as tears dripped down my face.
