The man named San looked appalled at the sight of Seonghwa who barged out of nowhere with this tentative assertion.
Of me being his already??
What in the world is going on here?

I run out of the room as sneakily as a mouse while a bolt of lightning stooped at eye level between the two men.
I continued my marathon directed towards the ground near the pond occasionally looking behind me in case someone kept a track.
I couldn't believe my ears...snakes?
White Snake's Bride? What did I get myself into?

Suddenly the sound of a dried twig breaking into two hinted on footsteps walking towards me.
I proceed to run even faster.
There is no way I will get caught., I thought.
Rushing through the avenue, my body halted right when a branch appeared in the way.
I fell to my knees so as to prevent it from penetrating into my eye.
Look like this is the end of me.
My heart thrusted against my chest as if it was about to burst and the summer heat did it no good.
In no time I felt my feet getting cold, my head felt lighter than before while darkness slowly curtained my eyes.
"Seonghwa", a breathy voice escaped my lips as if it was my last.
.
.
As I slowly regain consciousness, I found myself in a light colored, tidy room.
"Is this heaven?"... "I can't be"

"Is this hell".. "no it's.."

"Did God put me in possible upgradations just like in school?",
I felt very light headed but the burden of ambiguity made me gain my senses.

"I feel good about my wife being blessed with a good lot of sarcasm", a voice made me turn my head.
The source raised a pang of fear in my heart.

"You... What are you doing here?
Where did you bring me?", I cried out.

"Keep calm my love.
I know that we would be willing to accept each other's flaws, but I still don't prefer hearing you shout..."

"that too right after our first night.",

he calmly said with a voice as intoxicating as a sweet poison.
I noticed him sitting by a wooden window, milky white skin glimmering in the daylight, with no possible prop to engage him in.
He was most probably either staring me all this time...
Or...

"DON'T YOU DARE", i shouted once again.
Only this time he disappeared from him seat and out of nowhere appeared right in front of me.
He pinned me down against the mattress, both of my hands cuffed in his.
His breath was irregular.
As if he was just as flustered as me.
There was no denying of his masculine attractiveness.
His scent unknowingly beckoning each one of my receptors to give in to his grasp; But I was determined to have my share of struggling as I meagrely wriggled under him, trying to break free.

"Now listen to me.
I'm gonna let you go if you relax."

I knew all this shuffling was useless so I helplessly obeyed him.

"Good girl", he smirked as he loosened his grasp.

"I was lying

"I was lying. I did nothing to you.
So relax"

"There's no use denying it. It's what nature chose for us.. white snakes."

I only looked at him in disbelief.

"We serve supernatural beings, and this is how the almighty rewards us maybe.
Call it a curse or a reward, but just like how foxes are indebted to their saviors, so are we.", the look in his eyes softened.

"I am just as tied to you as you are to me.", he added and looked right into my eyes with a determined stare.

"Bu...", the distance between us was scarce and on top of it, whenever he inhaled; the little seam of his silk robe seemed to reveal with chest wherein a very distracting mole sat.
I couldn't help but feel his breath on my lips as heat took over my cheeks.

It was until he lightly brushed his fingers on my lips and said,
"If you do this, I might just not be able to control anymore."

.
.
As if on cue, the very next moment, the door vehemently slid open wherefrom Seonghwa barged in absolutely infuriated at the sight of San being positioned over me in such a vulger manner.
"I WILL KILL YOU"

"oh Look who's here....Hyung",
San playfully commented.
A trail of goosebumps approached my skin at San's remark.

"What... You don't approve of my wife now? Is that why you're here?

You just said you didn't want to marry her.", San mocked at an indignant Seonghwa.

"That was because.... She didn't... I didn't want...", Seonghwa stuttered while struggling to find words.

"Just say you actually fell in love with her and couldn't bring her into the immortal world.", San laughed hysterically after taunting his brother.

"Why you little shi-"

"Well I'm afraid.. The early bird gets the prey.", the look in San's eyes which was cheerful a minute ago, suddenly turned glum.

"Now her entire being belongs to me.. Know what that means hyung?

That I will fight for her."

"Why are you so obsessed with her.. San?", Seonghwa now directed  a genuine gaze at San who was burning with rage.

"why me? I just want to live my normal life.", I interrupted.
"I want my very boring life back!"

"San... Please let me go...
Seonghwa Please save me", I cried as I begged them to let me out of this crisis.

" 'save' you.. Dont be delusional
baby girl.
Do you think my older brother will 'save' you?

He will do all those things to you which I have resisted up til now.
After all, he marked you first."

"San stop this madness and release her to me.", Seonghwa tensly furrowed his eyebrows.

"see", San suddenly got excited.

"just know that you will have to choose eventually.", I realized what he said wasn't entirely false.
Now I was stuck in a maze with cliffs on the two ends.
For now.. The maze feels safer than the destination.

My train of thoughts was halted by San who suddenly clasped his hands in unison and said,
"I'll give you a chance hyung.
If you can make her choose you..
You can have her."
