Dear diary,

"In the tapestry of life, some threads are never meant to weave together."

Taehyung and I had been casual friends since we started college together. We met in the orientation ceremony of the fine arts faculty and found many similar interests and icks. He was always very friendly to me, and always seemed to go out of his way to chat with me.

At first, I thought nothing of it, but now that I think about it ten years later,
He had always treated me differently,
Specially.

I would often find him sitting behind me in class, sometimes mistaking him for stealing glances at me when he was actually looking in front and then embarrassing myself. Taehyung looked a different kind of handsome, one that words can not simply describe, yet he would always try to make conversation with me when we passed each other in the hallway. Probably because of our shared love towards a beautiful thing; art.

Our sculpting, sketching and modern art theory classes and a sheer passion for fine arts drew us close, and we spent hours immersed in creativity. From the moment we started, there was an unspoken connection, a bond that went beyond words.

All of these well crafted words I'm writing now, are in utter contrast to my obliviousness then.
He'd sit behind me in sketching class, his fingers crafting intricate drawings that would mysteriously appear in my notebooks. Delicate roses, serene landscapes – each sketch held a message he couldn't put into words.
I'd often find one of these sketches and went, "wow this is so beautiful Tae, I'm gonna keep this for a long long time."
And ten years later, I still have them.

In sculpting class one morning, he presented a rough sculpture that caught my eye. "this is so pretty," I exclaimed, tracing the curves of the piece.
"it's a portrait right", I couldn't pinpoint the familiarity it held.

He looked over to me and said, "yes. It is supposed to be."

"it's gonna be beautiful.", I assured.

He smiled, his eyes hinting at hidden meaning. "I'm glad you think so. It's inspired by something."

"whoa, who? Is it your lover?", I snickered at him.

"Somewhat.... It's inspired by something beautiful.", he looked down, shied at his own words.

I laughed, never realizing the depth of his emotions. "You always surprise me, Taehyung."

His laughter danced in the air. "That's the idea."

As time passed, our conversations took a bittersweet turn. He'd talk about longing and unspoken feelings, but I missed the weight behind his words. Oblivion shrouded my senses.
I guess I never really knew him.

One day when the college journey was coming to an end, and the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the campus, I found myself striding towards our usual meeting spot, my heart brimming with excitement. I couldn't wait to share the news with Taehyung – something important to me.

As I spotted him near the fountain, I couldn't help but notice the determined expression on his face, a mixture of nerves and resolve. Today was the day he had mentioned, the day he wanted to walk home with me. I smiled, wondering what he could possibly want to discuss.

"Hey, Taehyung!" I greeted him, my voice filled with enthusiasm.

He returned my smile, though there was a certain hesitancy in his eyes. "Hey. I hadn't seen you today."

"there was a reason" I blurted out, unable to contain my excitement any longer. "I have something amazing to share."

His brows furrowed slightly, his curiosity piqued. "You do?"

Nodding vigorously, I beamed. "Yeah! I've started seeing someone. His name's Wonwoo, and he's from the computer science major. He's incredible, Taehyung."

His smile seemed to waver for an instant, though he quickly masked it. "Wow, that's great! I'm so happy for you."

"Thanks!" I replied, truly elated. "I can't wait for you to meet him sometime."

As our conversation continued, I could sense an underlying tension, an unspoken something hanging between us. But before we could delve deeper, fate decided to intervene.

Just as Taehyung seemed to be mustering the courage to say something, a familiar voice called out. "Hey, there you are!"

I turned to see Wonwoo approaching, a gentle smile on his face. He wrapped an arm around my waist, making his presence known.

"Hey, Wonwoo!" I said, feeling a flutter of warmth in my chest.

Taehyung's demeanor shifted ever so slightly, his smile faltering for a fleeting moment. "Hey."

Wonwoo extended his hand, and Taehyung shook it, their exchange brief yet laden with unspoken tension.

"We were just taking about you." I explained, sensing the subtle awkwardness.

"Right," Taehyung replied, his tone neutral.

Wonwoo glanced between us, his intuition sharp. "Well, I'm here to pick you up. Ready to go?"

I looked at Taehyung, feeling a mixture of emotions swirling within me. "Yeah, I am... Taehyung, im sorry I'll have to go.. we'll catch up later?"

He managed a nod, his smile holding a touch of sadness. "Sure, talk to you later."

As I walked away with Wonwoo, I couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted, something unsaid hanging in the air.
Little did I know the depth of Taehyung's unspoken words, his unconfessed feelings that would forever remain beneath the surface.
.
.
As our college journey concluded, a farewell event gathered us all. Taehyung stood on stage, guitar in hand, his voice carrying a tune soaked in heartache. His eyes bore into mine as he sang the song 'know me' by gemini; and with every word, it felt like he was tugging at my the strings of my heart.

Tears blurred my vision as I watched him from the crowd, sitting beside Wonwoo. His song held the weight of unspoken words, of emotions that couldn't find their way into the light. His gaze lingered on me as he sang, a storm of emotions raging behind his eyes.

"Do you know the fight
To keep you by my side?
This love will never change
But I just might go insane

Do you know me now
So I can see a smile?
This love will never grow
But at least you'll never know

I just wanna keep us close tonight"

As the final notes faded, Taehyung's stare held mine for a lingering moment before he looked away. The echoes of his unrequited melodies reverberated in the air, haunting and beautiful, reminding me of the love that had remained unspoken.

And with that, our story unfolded – a symphony of heartbreak, regret, and the tender ache of what could have been.
