A Stranger

-Kudo Shinichi's POV-

"How many times do I have to tell you?!" I cried out. "I saw it all! A guy smuggling guns and another guy blackmailing him! But his accomplice saw me..."

I frowned when I saw the doctors in the back snickering at me, but I kept going anyway.

"That's when I got whacked on the head from behind!" I practically yelled, even though the officer was right in front of me. He looked so big; it made me start to believe I actually turned back into a little kid.

"Now now, little boy," the officer said, who was sitting on the chair cross-legged. "You've watched too many cop shows!"

"I'm not a little boy! I'm a junior in high school!!" I yelled, completely frustrated. The moment I said those words, everyone in the room burst out laughing. Why aren't these cops believing me?!

"Hey, I've got another kid. Do you think she has any connection to this one?" another officer walked into the room of laughing people. He stopped short, taking in the strange situation. "What's going on?"

"This kid thinks he's in some kind of movie!" the officer wiped a tear away. "He keeps saying something about two guys in black."

I look over towards the door way and see girl who looked like she jumped in the shower with all her clothes on. It was weird though...all her clothes were way too big for her.

Ouch..! I turn to look in the mirror to see my condition. He really got me good, didn't he?

...!

What?! 

M-my body...

It shrunk?! But how...?

Could it be?? 

I swung my head over to the girl. That guy got her too!!

I don't know why she's wet, but judging by her oversized clothes and her loose hair, she must've been shrunken down by the same methods.

She must've ran into that guy on accident, but I'm not really sure why he used the same drug...

Before I could get more into my deduction, the girl had come up to me and gave me a hug.

"Tanaka-kun! I'm so glad you're safe!" she held both of my shoulders and smiled at me. "Don't run off like that okay? I got hurt too!"

"Uh-" she kick my foot, clearly trying to signal something. Was it that she was trying to lie to the police? By using a very common last name, too! "Yeah, I'm sorry I ran off....I thought I saw something cool."

"Hmmm...well, as long as you're sorry." she went to my side and hooked arms with me. "Now I'm never letting you go!"

"Awww..." I hear the people around us cooing at her actions. Is this part of her scheming? To make us look like two children in love?

As I was admiring her actions to trick everyone watching us, she leaned into my ear and whispered.

"Do you have a place where we can go? " she asked. "And a path where we can run?" 

"Why do we have to run?" I whispered back.

"Because they're going to take us to some kind of daycare! I overheard the officer talking about it on the walkie-talkie!" she responded, sounding kind of offended.

Hmmm...

I think we could just go to my house. I have the key, and I could just open the gate.

I look the girl in the eyes and nod.
