It was the night on the first day of the Grand Magic Games.

Our team, and Fairy Tail B team, along with the rest of the guild, was at a bar yelling and having a great time.

Gray approached me, his shirt lost in the crowd.

"You did a great job out there, yah know."

I didn't even have to glance behind me to know that Juvia was sending her death glares my way.

"Thanks, Gray."

The raven-haired Mage smiled. Until a certain pinkette showed up, scowling. "Lucy is he bothering you?"

I let a sigh. "Natsu, I'm fine. I promise."

"Hey, um, Luce can we go outside for a minute?"

I nodded, waved bye to Gray, and followed Natsu outside.

The night air was cool, and the moon was full and a radiant silver.

Neither of us said anything for awhile, just stood there, listening to the wind rustle the leaves of trees.

"Lucy, I think you're in danger."

"Wait, that thing with Gray back there? I assure you--"

"No, as in danger. Serious danger."

This wasn't good. This was not good.

~Flashback~

I shook my head. "This is insane. Just get me out of here. Please. I need to find Natsu and go home."

Her face grew grim. "It...it won't be that easy, Lucy. She'll never stop coming after you, even if we get away."

~Flashback ends~

"Why?" I managed to squeak, my voice now heavy with worry.

"I saw someone suspicious in the crowd. They didn't even have a scent as if they didn't want to be followed or caught and they were dressed in a long, black robe that shadowed their face. Something was definitely up."

"But how do you know that that person is a danger to me? He or she could just be some creep going after someone else."

Natsu shook his head, frowning. "The figure in the robe had some kind of paper. And they dropped it, and it said your name on it. Your name. They quickly picked it back up, though, like they don't want to be caught or seen."

I fell silent, now only looking to the ground.

I should leave. I should just leave.

That way, no one I love or care for will get hurt anymore.

I looked at Natsu, tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry, Natsu, I really am."

"Luc--"

Natsu was cut off as someone crept up behind him and rammed him in the head.

He collapsed on the ground, eyes closed, and blood beginning to seep out.

"Wha--" I tried to scream in protest and shock, but was only forced to silence by a hand in a white glove that was now cupped over my mouth.

I screamed.

'Help me, someone. Anyone. I don't want to die. I don't want Natsu to die. This is all my fault.'

I could do nothing but struggle and cry as the hooded figure picked me up with ease and carried me away, further and further from Natsu, who was now unconscious in a pool of his own blood.

Why?

What did I do to deserve this?
