"Belle! Shut up!" I giggle, taking another sip of my drink
"It's true, Jake told me! He said that Sammy is like soooo in love with you." She slurs, almost falling off the bar stool
"Bullshit!" I respond
We'd been chatting and drinking at our favorite bar for two hours now. There was no way I was as shit faced as she was, but I was in pretty bad shape. She'd been trying to convince me that Sam was head over heals for me, a statement I'd been skeptical about for months now, but she insisted it was true. I laugh as my friend struggles to sit still on the chair, still on the topic of Sammy's non existent love life, making me giggle even more.
"Scuse me miss, you're in my seat." An older guy says, approaching me
"Ok?" I respond
"I always sit there." He tries shooing me away
"Sounds like a personal problem." I roll my eyes
"Don't you think you should respect older folk?" His tone was heavier
"Look, I'm not sure why you're whining over a seat, but I'm not moving."
"You really should be moving miss." He cracks his knuckles
"Or what?"
"Well, for starters..."
Next thing I know I'm being picked up and thrown to the ground, my vision almost quitting on me. I rush to get back up, not ready to be beat by some entitled ex frat boy.
"The fuck is your problem?"
"You're my problem!"
"Aw, what's the matter? Didn't get the seat you wanted?" I mock him "you're pathetic."
I turn around, ready to leave with Belle but get stopped by a unbearable pain in the back of my head. I hit the floor with a thud, my lip bleeding at the impact. I could distantly hear the guys' friends cheering him on but the loud ringing in my ears drowns it out. He continued to beat at me until he was out of breath and I was limp and frail afterwards.
