Harry, Wednesday, and Colin walked to the front of the school chatting the whole way about all sorts of things. Colin, despite having mellowed out where Harry was concerned, was still very talkative. Harry discovered that while he was a relatively average boy Colin would be someone the Addams family would have found fascinating. The boy was an expert in potions and was very familiar with poisons but beyond that he was normal at least as normal as a teenage wizard could be. He also seemed have a crush on Luna which Harry would either use as blackmail or use to get them together. He hadn't decided yet.

Wednesday took a sip from a flask on her hip with a skull and cross bones on it, "What is that?" the third year asked.

"Arsenic," She deadpanned.

Colin laughed but the couple didn't, "Wait you're not joking?" They shook their heads. Harry took the flask taking a long sip, "Whoa are you trying to die!" He panicked.

"Yes, but that's besides the fact," Harry said taking another sip before handing it back to Wednesday. They both looked at Colin who was slightly horrified if not a little intrigued. "We come from very powerful and resilient families."

"We could both stomach even the most pottant poisons and live." Wednesday said as Harry ruffled Colin's hair, "That won't kill us."

Colin looked on in interest, "Is that why all your friends have bands or rings on?" He asked pointing to the rune that hid under Harry's shirt. "They're protection runes with blood magic attached?" it was said like a question, but his tone suggested Colin knew the answer. "I had noticed the red glow and only blood magic glows constantly like that."

He smirked, "You have quite the eye Colin, yes that's partly why. When the blood of a strong cored wizard is on a protection rune and worn on your person, you're just about immune to being killed, it would take several consecutive shots to get though the shields it provides or a just a couple from someone stronger than me, blood magic itself is very powerful. Though depending on whom you are your body may not be able to process poisons. Hermione and Neville can process them well, Luna can breathe them in but can't ingest them, the rest of them not so much, the best they could do is eat a couple poison berries before collapsing."

"Then wouldn't it be stronger to place both your blood in a rune?" Colin asked.

Wednesday scrunched her eyebrows together, "It would, now that you mention it. I guess we never thought about it."

"Well, our threats were Muggle over the summer," Harrys said thoughtfully. "We were more worried about not getting shot, as opposed to magical problems so we weren't focused on magical solutions to problems. Nice job kid," Colin smiled.

They got to the front of the school, "We'll continue this later, you interest me," Wednesday said with a blank face.

Colin didn't know if he should be frightened or relived that she didn't hate him. The couple stood beside Hermione and Pugsley; Luna next to Wednesday leaving Ron to sulk behind Harry. The sadistic boy watched the over dramatic entrances of Durmstrange and Beauxbaton, not really impressed. Wednesday hissed and covered her ears. "Are they being too loud Shrike?" Harry asked pulling her head into his chest. She simply nodded, "How about I show you around this death castle a little more? We've hardly gotten to see any of it since the start of the term."

Wednesday's eyes grew wide in excitement. Ron looked at the two like they were completely insane once more, he had no idea what had happened to Harry.

The mask that Harry had worn since he was a child was covered in cracks and every time Wednesday was near, she put another crack in it. She was digging her nails into it; she wanted Harry to be true to himself and show who he really was. She had already fallen in love with what he has shown her, she wanted to love all of him but that was hard with his perfect porcelain mask in place. Pugsley was slowly but surely doing the same thing to Hermione.

Hermione giggled, "How about we show you the murderous willow and the acromantula nest Harry actually managed to make friends with the damn thing," Harry knew the only reason she had said that was to get Ron to stay behind. Though he did make friends with Aragog, their friendship hinged on Harry bringing him corpse.

"You're welcome to join us, Colin," Wednesday said to the small child.

He blinked twice but then looked at Luna and smiled, "Sure, but I don't know about the acromantula I'm not a huge fan of spiders," he told her as the six of them walked away.

Ron was in a panic, why had his 'best mate' and object of affection been acting so insane. Dumbledore had planned this all out he said it would all work, it would be easy, and Harry would be predictable. This was not easy, and it defiantly was not predictable.

What had happened over the summer? Who were those Addams kids? When did they start referring to each other as brother and sister and why did Harry and Hermione suddenly hate him?

"I'm telling you professor," Ron pleaded, "those Addams kids did something to Harry and Hermione, they were perfectly fine at the end of last year and two months later they show up with the Addams covered in scars and bruises acting absolutely insane."

Dumbledore tapped his wand against his chin, "It does seem like those children have done something to cause Harry and Hermione's erratic behavior."

"Do you think they tortured them like Neville's parents."

"It's beginning to look more and more likely my boy. I'm afraid the Addams children are a threat to our quest to taking down the dark." He had really hoped that Harry wouldn't end up like his father, That Wednesday would not push him over the edge like Andrea did to Lily. He was going to need to place compulsion charms on Harry and figure out why he couldn't break into his mind.

Harry and Hermione were showing Colin and the Addams siblings the womping willow after promising Collin he wouldn't have to go to the acromatula nest. "For a minute I thought you were gonna force me," he breathed out a sigh.

Wednesday looked at him strangely, "What good is a person if they don't respect boundaries?"

"it's fun to take risks and push yourself, but that's just if you do it yourself it's no fun if the screams of terror are not voluntary," Harry said ducking under one of the branches.

Colin looked at the couple realizing something, they live in a state of trauma and horror, and they thrive off of it. They dance to the sound of it, and they love it. No one was forcing them to be brave or smart or cunning it was who they were, and they were accepting of it and accepting because of it.

"Do you think maybe I could become part of your family?" He asked albite shyly rubbing his hands together and shuffling his feet.

Harry nor Hermione even flinched, "maybe," Hermione answered. "One day." She turned to him an insane gleam in her eyes, "I think you should hang out with us a little more and think about where you stand with us and where you stand with your sanity. Our family is long term. We may be insane, but we care for and love each other, it's not something you just leave and it's not for the faint of heart. You gotta be sure you want to be with us, and we have to be sure we can trust you. So maybe one day."

"One day," Colin whispers to himself with a smile.
