All day I kept thinking about Ethan. But now I had to forget about him, it was time for cherr tryouts.

"Welcome students!" Says the P.E. coach, I had her earlier today. "Since the old cheer captain graduated last year, we are going to be looking for a new captain!" I hear some squeels and a couple people shuffling there feet. But me personally, I didn't know what to think, I guess I was excited.

"Now that I have seen all of your routines, will anounce who is on the team, and then the captain." She says, after the last girl went. She started naming off names, but I never heard my name. "And now for the captain! Drum roll please!" And we all bend over to hit our hand on our legs. "The captain is Maddie Ryes!" I would have to say that I am kind of shocked. I mean I am the new girl. I hear people whispering things like, 'Her! But shes new!' and 'Does she even know how?' and I just think to myself. 'Of coarse I do, I was captain for my old school!'

Practice is right after school, so I am walking down the hall, but I can't stop thinking about him, Ethan. I walk out on the field that we have to share with football players today. That's when I see him. Stop thinking about him and get to work I think to myself. "Okay, girls! I want to see what you got!" I say, and they do the best they can.

After I have seen all of there strengths and weaknesses, the coach walks over. "Girls, I want you to go meet the football players, so you know who you are cheering for!" She says and pushes us towards them. "Football players, cheerleaders. Cheerleaders, football players." A few of us nod, but I don't do anything. Because I can feel 'his' eyes on me. So I just look at the ground. "Well, go introduce yourselves, she says and pushes a few of us forwards.
Than he walks up to me. "So your on the cheerleading squad?" He asks an obvious question.
"More like the captain." I reply, putting a hand on my hip, sassy like, and he smirks.
"Well I'm captain of the football team." He says, bragging in a jokingly way. Now it's my turn to smirk. "Well, we better go, we have a lot of practice to do." He walks away, and motions for the rest of his players to follow him.
