"Mum!" I cried, hammering my fists on the door into my parents room.

It seemed like forever before mum finally came to the door in a floor length silver dress that hugged her frame and made her look 'glorious' as Kendall would have said.

"What are you so dressed up for?" I asked with arched eyebrows, momentarily stunned out of the issue I was taking to her.

"Your father and I are going to have lunch," she told me with an excited smile.

"Okay . . uh, have you seen Kendall?" I said, rubbing at the back of my neck.

Her eyes narrowed and she pulled the door closed behind her, stepping into the empty hall with me which made me groan. I knew it was the right thing to do, going to mum, but she was so full on with her questioning sometimes.

"What do you mean Hunter?" she pressed, her face freakishly close to mine.

"Your breath stinks," I choked out, pushing her back slightly so I could breathe the fresh air. "Okay, she went to the party on the sky deck last night and she didn't come back. I've looked everywhere but I can't find her, and she's not answering her phone."

Mum pulled a face and swung the door into her and dad's room open.

"Evan, have you seen or heard from Kendall today?" she called back into the room.

"Nope," my dads gruff voice answered.

"Crap. She's not stupid, something's wrong," mum said, pushing past me and hurrying towards the elevator.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"To find someone important so they can organise some sort of search. She doesn't drink so where ever she is, she's sober and if she was able to get back here she would have," mum told me, repeatedly pressing the button for the elevator.

"I'm coming with you."

*Niall's P.O.V*

"Lou it hurts," I sobbed, fisting my shirt with my right hand.

"I know, I know it does but there's nothing I can do I'm so sorry. Here, bite into this and just scream, try scream out the pain," Louis told me, stripping off his shirt and handing it to me.

I balled it up and sunk my teeth into it before letting out the loudest scream I could muster. Louis covered his ears and mine were left ringing at the insane amount of noise I still managed to make through the thickness of the shirt.

"Better?" Louis asked after a few moments silence.

"A bit, thanks, and sorry your shirt's covered in saliva now," I chuckled slightly, handing Louis back his shirt.

"Keep hold of it, you might need it again, besides it's warm enough to not need it," Louis told me, pushing my extended hand back to me.

“Thanks Lou,” I sighed, dropping his shirt on my chest and taking deep breaths.

I’d never been in so much pain in my life, with each breath it rose my shoulder and made an intense pain flare up in my shoulder and run all the way down to my elbow and back. There was no position where I found myself comfortable or in less pain, and every time I moved, a pained groan slipped through my lips and Louis’s frown would deepen. It seemed like forever had passed when Harry and Kendall finally got back, their arms stacked full of leaves and large sticks.

“Here are the sticks you asked for,” Harry said, handing a couple of sticks to Louis then dropping the rest of his load a few feet away from us.

“Thanks babe,” Louis smiled.

I tilted my head so I could watch Kendall and Harry arrange the sticks to make something that vaguely resembled a camp fire structure. My eyes kept wandering back to Kendall, her rich blue eyes narrowed as she concentrated on what she was doing. She was stunningly beautiful with her sun kissed skin and long dark hair, she was like a goddess and she made my heart race.

“Earth to Niall,” Louis all but yelled in my ear, making me flinch which in turn made my shoulder scream.

“Louis,” I complained, gripping at his balled up shirt tightly.

“Sorry, but I’m going to put a splint on your wrist to try keep it all aligned and everything so nothing worse will happen to it, okay? Can I have my shirt, I need to tear some strips to keep it secure,” he explained.

“It’s your favourite shirt Lou, use mine instead,” I told him, handing over my sandy shirt.

“Thanks man,” Louis smiled, taking my shirt and tearing a few strips off the expensive material.

He set the thick, surprisingly straight sticks either side of my wrist and bandaged it up with the strips. It hurt like hell at first, but after a little while it settled back to the dull ache it had been for the last god knows how long.

“Doctor Tomlinson, I can see it,” I teased as Louis rocked back on his heels to admire his handiwork.

“Funny Nialler- whoa, you actually got a fire going,” Louis gasped, stumbling to his feet and walking around me to where Kendall and Harry were standing around the fire they’d somehow managed to conjure up.

“Are you a witch?” Louis asked Kendall with narrowed eyebrows.

Harry rolled his eyes at our band mate before him and Kendall started laughing. Louis smirked and walked around the fire to wrap his arms around Harry’s waist. It had never been weird seeing them being affectionate towards one another, because they had been since day one, and none of us lads had been surprised when they’d told us they were together because they were so terrible at being sneaky about it. I still couldn’t help but smile when I saw them all loved up though, because they were so great together.

Kendall smiled at the boys and walked over to me, slowly lowering herself to the sandy ground beside the life boat where I was lying.

“How are you feeling?” she asked gently, pulling her knees up to her chin and resting her head on them.

“There hasn’t been a moment since my hangover wore off that I’ve been comfortable,” I told her with a heavy sigh.

“It’s going to be okay, you know,” she smiled, reaching out and taking my right hand.

“Fingers crossed,” I chuckled weakly.

“It will be, we’ve got a fire going and Harry knows how to build some kind of bowl that can catch fresh water, and I found a couple of berry bushes that are safe to eat, and there are some fruit trees. We can always fish too. It might take a little while, but they’ll find us and you’ll get the help you need,” she whispered, running her thumb lightly over my knuckles.

I let out a deep sigh, then winced at the pain in my shoulder. Kendall frowned before lying down beside me and giving my hand a gentle squeeze. Her body was warm and soft against mine, the material of her dress like silk on my clammy skin. I smiled down at her before closing my eyes, rubbing small circles on the back of her small hand until I slipped into a less painful unconsciousness.
