I'll Call You Mine [Cedric Diggory]

chapter nine

With the Yule ball only a couple weeks away the staff took it upon themselves to give the students lessons on how to ballroom dance. Every boy was to be paired with a girl and so on and so forth. When the class would begin they would keep with one partner then progressively switch as the time went forth in order to really perfect the foot work.

Tatum would start off with Ginny and Luna would start off with Fred. To say that it was quite uncomfortable was an understatement. Dancing with the person who thought you wanted their significant other will never not be just a tad bit uncomfortable.

"switch" Would leave Mcgonagold's mouth and the two gladly spun away from each other and now Tatum had been in the arms of Fred while he watched Ginny and Luna being reunited. He would smile at the male as he would begin to lead and Tatum would simply fight it.

"I'm leading" Fred would speak as he would step on Tatum's feet when the two would cross paths every so often. Then Fred would simply just force his lead as he would stomp on the males feet when they would come too close to crossing the threshold between the two males.

"Frederick don't make me tell on you" Tatum would speak in only a partially joking tone as he would chuckle at his own words as he would be looking between his feet and the red head who stood in front of him.

"Well it's good to be a man of many talents, i'm just trying to help you be an exquisite ballroom dancer" He would speak as he would dip Tatum making Tatum laugh a bit as they would continue. He felt the males hand slip back to his waist as they would continue. Soon they heard the sound of Mcgonagold saying to switch again. Tatum would spin off into Cedrics arms and would smirk as he looked at the male.

"Well hello" Cedric would speak as the two would begin to do the same thing Fred and Tatum had done, except this time Tatum got to lead. Tatum would smile to himself at this achievement as if it was such a big deal in the first place.

"Hello" Tatum would speak back with a small smile on his face as he would hold Cedrics hip and hand before allowing his hand to drop the others for a dip. He would smile as he would watch Cedric make it more dramatic than it had to be which made i'm chuckle lightly in response.

"How was dancing with Fred, nothing too handsy now" Cedric would speak as his eyes would look over at his red headed friend. Tatum would roll his eyes at the males comment as he would spin Cedric which was not apart of the dance but it felt like a nice way to make the dance more fun.

"Not at all, Hand was at my waist but that's where it was supposed to be" Tatum would speak as he would watch Cedric smile as they would spin once more before Mcgonagold would chant out for them to switch again. The pattern went on until the class hour would end, Tatum had danced with what felt like everyone in the class even though that wasn't the case in any way, maybe with about ten others before the class would be dismissed.

Tatum would have picked up his things without a second thought as he would await the Weasley twins and Cedric to pick up their things. Draco would have come over as well, linking arms with Tatum as they would have walked a little bit in front of the trio consisting of Cedric, Fred, and George. Tatum's eyes would skim the school as him and the blonde would have just been chatting about nothing at all.

"Well this is where we part Tee" Draco would have spoken before the two would bid their farewells and Tatum would make his way to his next class with the trio that had been walking behind him and Draco.

"So are you ready for the next task Cedric" George would question as the four would sit in their places talking before the class would begin.

"I wish I could say I was, If I could just know what it is" Cedric would speak as he would throw his head back in frustration. Tatum would wear a nervous smile before mister moody would pull Cedric aside kinda abruptly.

"Well that was awfully weird" Fred would speak as Tatum simply shrugged his shoulders as he sat down. His hair would stand up on the back of his neck as Hermione ran in and grabbed his hand.

"You need to come with me, quickly now" She would speak as Tatum would have almost forgotten his wand as the two twins sat in confusion.

"What should we tell the misses?" They would call after him jokingly as Tatum could be seen visibly rolling his eyes as he ran with the curly headed girl who would drag him through the crowded hallways in the direction of the library.

"So why are we skipping class miss granger?" Tatum would speak as he would push his fingers through his hair. The girl would be frantic as the two would begin searching in the library.

"I just didn't know of anyone else who understands how stressful this situation is, you know not being able to be with your best friend or help them, I just thought we could do some research about what could possibly be in the egg" She would spew all in one quick instant but Tatum caught most of it as he would nod slowly with a smile.

"Hermione there's nothing to worry about, it would be kinda weird of Hogwarts just allowed their students to die once every hundred years" Tatum would speak with a simple chuckle as he would push his fingers through his hair as he would take a ponder on it before Hermione would begin to look through a very large book on the subject of golden eggs.

"Well Hogwarts can't control everything so we must begin helping as much as possible" Hermione would speak frantically searching the book for anything to help put her mind at ease. The two of them looked relentlessly for pages and pages finding almost nothing about a golden prank dragon egg that screeches at one when they open it. Tatum and Hermione would sit back in their seats with a deep breath as they rolled up their sleeves prepping to go back in for another read through when they were summoned up to Dumbledores office.

The two were lead there by Mad Eye as they would make confused eye contact with one another as they accepted the fact that they were probably getting in trouble for skipping their classes. When they would reach Dumbledore's office Mad Eye would turn walking away as if he had not been with the two for the long walk. 

"Weird" Tatum would mumble as the two would walk through the doorway finding two others also in the office, Ron Weasley and a girl who was from one of the schools that would have joined them for the Tri-wizard tournament. Tatum in all fairness paid little to no attention at all to school names or really the names of the students from said schools.

"Looks like everyone's here" Dumbledore would speak simply as there was a man in the corner of the room who would step out as Dumbledore would step away into a different part of the office. Tatum would be about to ask a question when the unfamiliar man spoke a spell and Tatum's senses were instantly all shut down.
