I'll Call You Mine [Cedric Diggory]

chapter ten

cedric's pov.

The Hufflepuff woke up the morning of the second task. He was so enthusiastic and optimistic about the day due to the challenge. He had the perfect plan as to how he was going to accomplish this challenge. And it was all thanks to Tatum, thankfully he had been in the library with him most of the night till Tatum was randomly called to headmasters office.

Cedric would put on his tournament attire that he had been given and quickly make his way down to where he was designated to eat breakfast. He sat next to Harry Potter as the two had been kinda friends during this whole experience even though towards the beginning there was some heckling. The two boy would soon be off towards the lake both of them missing something as they looked around for their friends.

"Hey have you seen Ron and Hermione?" Harry would ask as he would scratch the back of his head. Cedric looked around for a brief moment before shrugging his shoulders.

"Hey have you seen Tatum though, i've been meaning to talk to him" He would speak simply. He had to talk to the male, let him know that he would have to go to the Yule ball with a girl due to the dance part at the beginning.

"No, honestly i haven't seen any of them since last night" Harry would speak as Cedric nodded. He would just assume that the Slytherin went off with Draco or something.

"Strange isn't it" Cedric would speak as the two would shrug and make their way down to the lake and as they walked Cedric was pulled aside by the twins.

"Hey have you seen-" They would begin before Cedric would quickly cut them off with the person they were probably about to mention.

"Ron? no i haven't and have you seen" Cedric would speak kinda quickly as he looked around frantically for the slytherin boy who would normally wear brunette curls.

"Tatum? no we haven't" They would speak as Cedric would sigh as he would look between the two red heads as they would wish him good luck as Cedric would run off to go to the platforms in which the contestants would all have to start off on and use their spells at in order to begin the event. Cedric would already have the bubblehead charm cued up for himself as he would still be distracted by having no clue where Tatum was.

"All contestants please get on your marks" Dumbledore would announce as Cedric would begin to hurry over to his mark everyone clearing the way as Dumbledore would announce that they each had someone who meant a lot to them in the lake. And that's when it hit him.

"Get set" Dumbledore would speak as the four would get down a bit three of them placing their hands at either side while Harry seeming to be swallowing his potion bits.

"GO!" Three of them flew in as one of them fell in. Cedric casted the spell almost instantly and began his journey looking for the mermaid village that the clues had taught them about. He watched one go in a very different direction but he wouldn't bug out over it, for all he knew he could be going in the wrong direction. He would silently hum to himself as he would push his way through various amounts of seaweed and fish. He didn't care about winning he really only cared about finding Tatum. His eyes would widen as he would see the male and smile, but as he was smiling he would notice that they were tied down. He would swim over casting a spell on the rope as he would notice Harry coming over as well. He would motion to his wrist allowing harry to know that it was definitely running down and that he needed to grab his friends and go.

Cedric would find himself with tatum in one arm as he swam up towards the surface. He would take deep breathes before he would break the surface with the curly haired male in his hands. The moment had been so surreal that he had hardly noticed that the males tattoos were showing. He must not have been able to cast a spell that morning due to his situation but Cedric had never seen the males tattoos before, they were neat.

"Cedric where are we" Tatum would speak as he would breath heavily as the two would paddle over towards the latter Tatum shivering as he would climb up getting wrapped in a towel almost instantly as would Cedric.

"Second task" He would speak as the male would follow Tatum up the latter, he would wrap his arms around Tatum as Tatum shivered in the other males arms.

tatums pov.

"Your so dead if I have to be bait like this again" He would speak to the male a she would hear him chuckle feeling the vibration in his chest as he would laugh made Tatum feel a bit better.

"Best friends over here let's get these two!" The reporters would call out as Tatums would purse his lips together as Cedric smiled at the camera with one hand wrapped around Tatum and the other one holding his towel.

"Best friends?" Tatum would speak in a bit of disbelief to Cedric as Cedric would kinda chuckle. He would tighten the male closer to his body as he would whisper.

"but if you ever get another best friend like me, I won't be too happy" He would speak as Tatum rolled his eyes elbowing the male as he would laugh making that cute laugh face that he does. Once the cameras would leave the two would await the announcement that they could disperse from the site of the second task. They stood in the same way for the majority of the time they were still stuck on the docks. With Cedrics arm wrapped around Tatum and Tatums head on Cedrics shoulder. It felt perfect except for the fact that Tatum was colder than a witch's tit. But he couldn't say that out loud since in the wizard it world that may be offensive, and he didn't want to ruin his time with Cedric by saying something stupid.

Once they were all dismissed, Cedric would walk with Tatum in the direction back in the direction of the Hogwarts castle as they seemed to be straying behind the huge crowds of people freaking out over how intense Harry's return was. But Tatum was more concerned with the fact that they put four individuals lives at risk for some dumb task but again, this wasn't the time especially since it was probably a very intense morning for Cedric.

"Hey I wanted to ask you something but it kinda seems like a bad time right now" Cedric would speak up as Tatum would raise an eyebrow at the male. The curly haired brunette was now extremely curious as to what the question was as he would nudge Cedric with a small smile.

"What's the question? I don't bite that's much anymore" Tatum would speak with a small shrug earning a laugh from the Hufflepuff as he would push his fingers through his own hair before speaking up once more.

"I was wondering if maybe you wanted to be official" Cedric would speak as Tatum would look over the male with wide eyes as a smile formed on his lips. Tatum wasn't amazing at relationships he could admit this. But he couldn't lie that his heart fluttered when Cedric asked him to essentially be officially a couple.

"I, I'm not good at this" Tatum would speak earning a small smile from Cedric as the two kinda stopped to step back from each other and really look one another in the eyes.

"I don't think anyone is" Cedric would speak with a small shrug as he took a step toward Tatum would would be looking at the male. He would smile hopefully as he would look at the male.

"I just don't want to mess this up" Tatum would speak as Cedric would chuckle making Tatum raise an eyebrow as he looked at the male.

"We can't mess it up or blossom without trying" Cedric would speak as she would rest his hands at Tatums hips as Tatum found himself laughing at the males words.

"Oh my god okay Romeo" He would speak almost cackling as Cedric would look over him with a small laugh escaping his lips.

"So is that a yes" Cedric would speak as he would pull the male closer to him as Tatum would take a minute before answering. He would think back to some of the moments him and Cedric would share really considering if he was willing to risk it all yet. That's when the memory of how protective Cedric would get flashed through his mind as he would take a deep breath.

"Yes, on one condition" Tatum would speak as he would watch Cedric raise an eyebrow with a smile still played across his lips before he would nod for the male continue.

"You have to let me handle my own problems, unless I specifically ask" Tatum would speak as Cedric would look to contemplate for a moment before he would nod and Tatum would smile planting his lips on Cedrics as the two shared yet another positive moment...
