Chapter 4: Getting Somewhere

"Ugh..." I groaned loudly. "How long have I been asleep?" My voice cracked as I spoke. I looked up at the clock and it reads 12:32 PM. I groaned and yelled at myself for staying asleep for too long. I got up from my cheap couch and went to my bedroom to check on riolu. I opened my door and noticed my bedsheets were on the floor. I looked at the bed and noticed riolu was gone. "Huh!?" I ran out of my room and checked the house.

5 minutes later.

"She not here!" My voice was sadding as I frantically looked for her. I sat on my couch and thought what is she doing right now. I sigh and let the thought go.

1 hour later.

I sat on my couch watching TV. I was subconsciously watching videos of other people with their pokemon. They were laughing and enjoying each other company. I sadly sigh in deep thought, *maybe I'm overreacting*. I sigh as I turn off the TV and thought of something I can do. I pulled up a list I made a while ago when I first moved here. I looked at the list,

Step 1 Finnish the house

Step 2 find a job

Oh, I guess I didn't have much to do. I put the list back up onto the shelf and started finishing up decorating the house.

4 hours later

I was very tired after carrying all of my stuff and putting them up. The house was nearly done getting decorated, but something felt missing. I shooked the feeling away booted my computer up and started searching for a job.

1 hour later

I was currently looking at some retail jobs  I get when I heard a knock on the door. I walked over to the door and opened it.

"H-Hello?" My voice sounded deadpan. I looked around the door but I didn't see anything.

"Down here." A small voice said in my head. I looked down and saw riolu standing at the base of my feet. I started to tear up and hugged her. She had a surprised face on her. I blushed and let go of her.

"S-sorry, i-i don-" I was cut off when riolu spoke back

"Don't worry, I was just surprised that's all." Her face was plastered with a red tone on her blue face. I nodded and led her into the house. I sat back down on the couch and was in deep thought. "Why did I just hug her." My thoughts were interrupted when riolu was calling me.

"Y-yeah riolu?" I asked stuttering. I looked at riolu giving her my full attention. She noticed this and started to become red a little bit.

"I j-just wanted to ask what happened while I was gone?" I ask a bit worried and nervous tone to it. I begin to blush a bit.

"U-uh... Nothing!" I replied trying to sound reassuring as possible.

She nodded and continued into my room and shut the door behind her. I felt it when she left, so I decided to get up and walk towards my door. As I approached the door, I heard sobbing behind the door. I begin to panic and opened the door calmly trying not to scare her.

"Are you okay?" I ask worriedly. She looked up at me but looked at the floor with her legs wrapped up to her. I continued to walk towards her and sat down next to her. She continued to sob. My heart broke hearing her cry. I put my hand on her back and begin to rub her back.

"It's going to be okay," I said trying to soothe her. She began to cry louder. I continue to soothe by moving my hand up and down her back.

"Shh, shh, shh, it's going to be  okay." I tried again reassuring her. She began to sob less and Whimper. I thought this would be the perfect time to ask her what was wrong.

"Are you okay?" My voice calmly as possible. She nodded and I continued to rub her.

"What happened?" I tried to be careful about what I said. She looked away from me before looking back at me with tears in her eyes. Her eyes were a bright red and she looked like she had been crying for hours. My eyes widen form and pulled her into a hug.

"It's gonna be okay. Just tell me what's wrong." I say with a caring tone attached to it. She nodded and sniffle before speaking.

"I had a nightmare last night," She said with a sad tone. I nodded and continued to ask.

"What happens in your nightmare?" I ask calmly trying to hide my panicked feeling. She begins to sob again I went to soothe her again.

"It's okay. You don't have to tell me if it is personal." I say disappointed for not getting an answer, but I'm happy that she's at least okay.

20 minutes later

We sat there for what felt like hours. I had to get up to make dinner. So I sat and her before deciding to continue.

"I have to get to make dinner," I say sadly. She nodded and got up as I got up. We walked to the dining room that was between the living room and the kitchen. I went into the kitchen and grabbed some ingredients to start cooking.

2 hours later

I felt very tired as I was eating dinner later than I normally would. I grab a plate and put it in front of riolu. She didn't look up, she just keeps looking at the floor. I sigh sat down and started to eat my dinner.

20 minutes later

I got up grabbed both plates and prepared my bed for riolu. I finally finished getting my bed ready and called riolu to bed. She came over, she didn't get into bed. She was looking right at me with puppy eyes

"C-can i-i to sleep with you tonight?" She asks softly. I looked slightly shocked before nodding. I pulled the bed sheets open and slide into the bed. I sigh and begin to slowly fall asleep. I felt riolu crawl into bed a minute later. I smile and wished her good night.

Next day

I awoke when I felt some little arms wrapped around me. I giggle a little bit knowing it was riolu behind me. I turn my head to see a riolu with a peaceful face. "Aww, she so c-cute... wait why did I think that!?" I mentally yell at myself. My face began to heat up badly, but I couldn't turn away. I tried moving my head, but it was like I was in a trance. When I felt move a little, I gain control of my body and looked away. I turn again to look at my clock. 6:20 AM. "Wow, I woke up pretty quickly than normal." I thought to myself. I turn my head back decided to go back to bed.

2 hours later

I awoke again when my body suddenly felt cold. I turn to see that riolu was gone, again. I pushed myself up and left my room.

"Riolu... Riolu!?" I yelled tiredly.

"You finally woke huh?" A sarcastic voice said. I giggle a little bit decided to fight back.

"Well for your information, I woke up 2 hours ago. And you were hugging me this morning". I yelled jokingly. Her face begins to grow rapidly red. I giggle a bit and I reassure her that it was fine. She just froze on the spot but broke out of her frozen state when I asked her.

"Hey what do want for breakfast?" I asked.

"P-pancakes p-please." She nervously rapidly. I nodded and started cooking.

10 minutes later

I finished cooking the pancakes and handed a plate to her. She thanks me before sitting down at the table. I grab my plate and sat down at the table next to her. I noticed she not eating her pancakes and was staring at me. She stopped eating and sighed. I decided to break the silence.

"What's wrong?"
