Chapter 7: Downfall

'Hmmm, it strangely very quiet...' I thought. 'Why do I feel like I'm floating in mid-air.' I move my hand under me. There was nothing under me! I shot up from my bed and was surprised that I was not in my room.

"Hello!?" I yelled out with fear. I looked around me, but there was nothing to look at. It was pitch black around me. I move my hand in front of me to see if I can see myself. 'Strange?.'

"Hello! Is anyone here?" I yelled out again with confidence. After waiting for some time, nothing responds. I float in boredom with questions filling my head. Suddenly, there was a bright light filling up the darkroom. I look towards the light, only to regret it. I bring up my hands to deflect the light. It gets brighter and brighter, making it harder to see.

"H-hello?" I stammered to push the words out of my mouth. The light stopped getting brighter and started to calm down as a figure appeared out of it.

"Hello, little one," It says in a monotone voice. I lower my hand from my face and looked at the figure that was in front of me. I was surprised to see that it was Arceus! He was right in front of me!

"Little one," Arceus spoke again "I need to warn you about the future." I give my full attention to Arceus.

"W-what, why?" I stumbled out. Arceus looks dead straight into my eyes, sending chills down my back.

"Your choice will affect your relationship with riolu," Arceus spoke. 'Oh no, what will happen to riolu!' I thought. I was about to ask, but Arceus spoke before I could.

"No need to worry, if you do this correctly, the future will follow a bright path," Arceus spoke with confidence. I was confused, 'why will this affect the future, I and riolu can't change that much of the future, can we?' I thought.

"Oh, but it will. You see, you and riolu will be this world's heroes," Arceus spoke in an up-tone voice. A smile spread across his face.

"You will bring peace to the world and stop an evil that could destroy this world, "Arceus spoke again. The light begins to disappear behind him.

"It looks like my time is up. Remember, you and riolu are the world's heroes." Arceus spoke and slowly went back to the light. The light fully vanishes and I start hearing a ringing noise in my ears. I clutch my hands onto my ears and begin to scream in pain. I felt so much pain, that I shot from my sleep with all the pain disappearing with it. I look around to see that I was back in my room. The sun was barely peaking outside. I looked at my clock to see it say 6:15 AM. I sigh with relief knowing it was a dream, right? I shook my head and lift the sheets off me. I was about to move until I felt an arm holding me back. I looked down to see riolu's small figure holding me tightly, like a teddy bear around the waist. I chuckle, not wanting to wake up riolu. I slightly pulled riolu off me not wanting to wake her up. She shook around a little bit before falling back to sleep. I step away from my bed and put on some casual clothing. I finished putting on my clothes and slowly walked towards the door. I quietly open the door and step through it. I turn around to look at riolu one last time before closing the door. 'She looks so cute sleeping... Wait, why did I just call her cute!?' I thought. I sigh as I left to go to the living room. I sat down on my cheap couch and turn the T.V. to see the news.

"BREAKING NEWS! An unknown group of people has raided the grocery store yesterday! Investigators are trying to find clues of who these people are." I sigh again knowing what happened as I was there.

"Witness says that there was someone who attempted to stop the unknown group." The T.V. audio says.

"GODDAMMIT!" I yelled at the top of my lungs and punch the couch. I sigh and put my hands on my forehead.
