The next day I woke up to 3 missed calls from Sheena and Ally and 3 text messages from Tez. Ignoring my friends completely, I opened up the messages from Tez.

They read:

"-Where r u??

-Oh nvm. Ally tld me she dropped u home early

-U straight, tho?".

They were nothing I could reply to. Yet, they made me upset. I wanted him to be more concerned about me, but I guess that Dreaya bitch had all his attention last night. Don't I sound salty? Well, I'm jealous. But I should of known better. Tez was way out of my league. I'm just too simple for him. With that, I have to get over it.

I sent him a simple, "Good morning" and headed to the kitchen to get something to eat.

"Morning Valerie. I make some waffles and bacon this morning. Make sure your aunt eats them and you and Nesha can have some too.", my mom says to me as I enter the kitchen.

"Uhh, ok ma.", I say opening the fridge.

"Alright. Luv you. I'm gone to work.", she said before walking out the door.

Since we found out my aunt was pregnant my mom went overboard taking care of her. I know Del is happier now she has the attention is on her. But, I just couldn't believe it. Firstly, she's barely getting away with this pregnancy because of her age and how risky it is to have a child right now. Secondly, this just goes to show how irresponsible this woman is. And I won't dare to ask who's the baby's father is, in spite that she doesn't even know. The reason being, she hasn't said shit about it.

"I smell food! You cooked?!", Nesha said, walking into the kitchen.

"Nope, my mom did. She wants it to go to Del and us to have any left overs.", I say fixing my plate.

"Chi' boo! She don't need a of this food. She don't even deserve this. And then, she'll be in the bathroom throwing it all up. You're mom does the most."

"Don't I know it. You see I made my plate as plentiful as I want it. Ha, she can have my left overs.", I say.

"Shit, ain't it!", Nesha said making her own plate. I'm glad Quanesha was on the same page with me about her mom. We both saw her craziness. My mom, however saw differently.

After eating I made it back to my room and decided to call Ally. She picked up on the 3rd ring.

"You better?", she asked.

"What? Oh yea, I completely forgot about that." Lie.

"Valerie, stop lying. What happened last night was well unexpected and it's ok for you to be hurt. I know you really liked Tez."

"What is there to be hurt about, Ally? He's my friend and it was just a small crush. I'm over it. It wasn't even a big deal."

"You being denial isn't going to solve anything. Look, just because his ex popped up at the party and danced with him, doesn't mean he's off the market. She was an ex, Val-"

"She is not just an ex, Ally!! Did you see the way he looked at her?!?! He's in love with her and she's a fucking goddess! How the hell can I compare to that!?? I can't! So I'm not gonna even try!", I snapped, no longer able to hold back the emotions I thought I could just forget about.

"Oh, Valley. I'm so-".

"Don't call me that! It's what Aaron used to call me.", I cut her off, crying now.

"Aar-Aaron. Oh dear, no Valerie. You're not over him, yet. Are you?", Ally asked calmly.

"I-I'm trying! I was trying but, that stupid "Dryer" bitch got in the way! Oh, it's sooo hard Ally. Why is it so hard?!", I cry.
