Hecate Hardbroom may look menacing but once you get to know her a little better, you'll see that there is nothing to be afraid of unless you get on her bad side, then you might want to run and find a way of evading her for the rest of the day or at least until she calms down.
[A little information on what made Miss. Hardbroom the way she is]
[FYI: the term, contracted isn't what really happened within the body of Indigo Moon, it is just my take on the way her body turned to stone]
Hecate Hardbroom was to say a good witch, with some personal demons of her own. When she was younger she had a friend named; Indigo Moon, she was the only human who could see her and that made her happy. They quickly became the best of friends, but when her teachers found out about this, Hecate did the only thing that she could think of at the time... she had a plan to turn her friend into a witch using the Wishing Star. She didn't think about the consequences of her actions and in doing so, she put many people in danger including Indigo.
Magic isn't for everybody, those born without it sometimes can't handle the magic coursing through their veins, this is exactly what happened with Indigo Moon. She was born without magic and when she was given magic, she didn't know how to control it. She had a plan, perform a magic trick never done before; make the academy disappear... WITH EVERYBODY STILL INSIDE! But before she could do the spell she started turning to stone, it seems that the magic was too much for her body to handle which resulted in her molecules contracting and freezing in space and time, which then allowed her body to be turned to stone. Joy Hecate Hardbroom was then confined to Cackle's Academy for an undetermined amount of time, there she studied hard and started turning into the witch that she is now. She feels guilty about what happened with Indigo and she doesn't want to be reminded of her mistakes. She spent 3 decades at Cackle's, never being able to leave its grounds.
She became the Potions Mistress and deputy headmistress at Cackle's, and she was happy, to say the least. But she didn't know that her life was about to change forever and she wasn't ready for that to happen just yet, but nevertheless, it was coming and there was nothing she could do to stop destiny from interfering with her.
