Chapter 9

It took about a week for Kenma's eye to heal. Apparently, the boss had called in an emergency. Kenma lined up with everyone. TY was fine as well. His arm was way better, now Kenma thought NK had some sort of healing potions. "Okay guys. We have an ally shipping towards us. And I need TWO important people to come with me for gabbling with their leader." Everyone froze, Kenma felt tension in the air. "So for our new member our ally is Fukurodani. Their leader BK likes to gabble for our shipments." Kenma nodded taking in the information. Fukurodani, a private, catholic, strict group. Everyone practically knows of them but no one has ever caught them. "Good. Well today is an all training day, NK will be calling some people today to my office but go ahead and train."

Kuroo walked back to his office with NK following behind him. Kenma started thinking, "I wonder what BK is like." He asked Yaku as they took out training equipment. "He's cool, very open minded, if you get chosen you really have to please his assistant more than you have to please him." Kenma nodded. He started stretching before doing full training. "I assume you've gotten chosen before." Yaku nodded then snickered. The two kept talking as they stretched. KK brought out some training equipment. They started training with each other. Fighting each other and using play guns. NK walked over to them with his usual smile. "I see you guys are training hard." KK nodded then wiped the sweat off his forehead.

"That's good, well boss wants to see you in his office." YM laughed then tapped Kenma's shoulder. "I see boss has a new favorite, you're the first one." Yaku said taking the ponytail out of Kenma's hair. NK nodded his head and whispered, "If I'm being honest, KK's all boss talks about." KK blushed then scratched his head. Yaku snickered, then patted Kenma's back. "Good luck, not that you need it though." Yaku said, watching Kenma walk off with NK. Kenma felt incredibly nervous. Does boss like him that much? Yaku said that they've known the boss for the longest so if they know that much, Kenma was surprised. NK opened the door for Kenma. The two walked into the office, and the boss was looking in a manilla folder. "NK, you can go train. I'll call you back in a little."

NK bowed then nodded. He left the room and Kenma sat down in the chair. He didn't give into his nervousness though. "Yes boss?" He said, putting his elbow on the desk and looking into the boss' eyes. "You're coming on the mission of course. NK probably has told you this before but I'm interested in you. I want to learn more about you Kenma." KK forgot that the boss knew his name for a second. Kenma hummed then snickered. "Why? Is it because of how I decided I wanted to join?" Kenma asked, the boss stood up and walked to a cabinet drawer full of manilla folders. He went through one and started reading it, "Well yes, but also the choices you make are interesting. And what I already know about you gives only more questions. For example, how were you in a run-in with the police?" Kenma laughed embarrassedly.

"I'm pretty sure that wasn't a rhetorical question huh? Well... I was accused of raping a person." Kuroo's eyes widened. Something he wasn't ready for. He was even more surprised Kenma was able to keep a straight face saying that. "See interesting, I'm looking forward to hearing your backstory sooner or later Kenma Kozume. But for now let me inform you, you will be here at 11 pm on Friday. I will have you, YM and NK with me. We will take a cab to the casino, from there I'm sure you'll figure out what to do."
