Chapter 39

Kenma woke up to someone yelling at him. "Kenmaa! Wake up!" Yaku yelled while shaking Kenma. He groaned then sat up. "Yaku?" Kenma said, looking around his room. He quickly frowned then sighed seeing that Kuroo was nowhere to be found. "Yeah. You got back with Kuroo?! Are y'all like dating dating now?" Yaku asked, shocked. Kenma shrugged his shoulders then blushed at memories of what happened last night. "I thought we were... but uh he's not here right now so I guess not." Kenma said sadly. Yaku handed him a note that Kuroo had left on the kitchen counter. 'Sorry I had to leave, kitten, I had to help Kai finish packing up our things. I realized that we don't have each other's phone numbers. ###-###-####, text if you need me.' Kenma blushed then smiled at the note.

"That's. New. Usually Shoyo makes you smile like that." Yaku said, sitting down beside him. Kenma scratched his head in embarrassment then sighed. "Well... they both make me smile ok jeez." Kenma said, pouting. Yaku gasped then lifted Kenma's neck up some. "He gave you a hickey?! Lord." Yaku said surprised. Kenma covered the hickey with his hand then glared at Yaku. "No need to point it out. Why are you even here?" Kenma said, yawning. Yaku scoffed then pouted. "I was worried about you, your phone went straight to voicemail. My fault for being worried about my friend." Yaku said, sticking his tongue out at Kenma. The male smiled then snickered. "Thank you Yaku... let's go get breakfast. After I clean up." Kenma said getting up from bed. Yaku nodded then started to help Kenma clean up.

On the other hand Kuroo sighed, picking up the last box of files. Kai threw everything out into the back field so they could burn it. "Is that the last of everything?" Kai asked, looking at Kuroo concerned. Kai didn't receive a response so he went into the office to check on Kuroo. He saw the former boss staring at his phone in distress. "You've been acting weird all day Tetsu, what happened?" Kai asked, looking at him. Kuroo looked at him surprised then sighed. "Kenma and I... we got together last night. We started dating, like actually dating but before I left I gave him my phone number and he still hasn't texted back." Kuroo said, sighing in disappointment. Kai gasped then clapped. Kuroo was surprised by how happy Kai was. "Wow. I can't believe he actually did it! I'm glad you guys are together, try not to mess it up this time." 

Kai said, lightly punching Kuroo's shoulder. Kuroo nodded then looked at Kai worried. "Hey Kai. When did he relapse?" Kai scratched his head then sighed. "It was maybe the 3rd day after Shoyo's death. We tried to keep everything sharp away but he broke some glass and cut himself with it." Kuroo bit his lip then nodded. Kuroo threw the last box out then they both made sure everything was thrown out. Kai lit a match then threw it at the building. They stepped back watching the building and everything else burn to the ground. Kai hugged him then smiled. "Promise to stay in contact alright Kuroo." Kai said with tears in his eyes. Kuroo rolled his eyes. "Don't start crying like I won't blow your phone up every night." Kuroo said with a scoff. Kai laughed then Kuroo hummed. 

"I'm walking to Kenma's house, let's go." Kuroo exclaimed. Kai smiled then they started walking. "Hey Kai? What's your love life like? I've known you for years and I don't even know if you've dated anyone?" Kuroo asked with a smile. Kai blushed then felt around in his pockets. He put a ring on his finger then smiled. "I've been married for about 8 months now. I don't wear my ring that much... sorry I kept such a secret." Kuroo was shocked. He looked at the ring then scoffed. "Wow... well who are you married to?!" Kuroo said scoffing. Kai laughed then played with his fingers. "Well... my partner we met at the same place I met Yaku, but we started dating and got married." Kai explained. Kuroo looked at him confused then scoffed. "Well when were you going to tell me?" Kuroo asked, confused. Kai shrugged then smiled. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Now let's go shall we." 

When they got to Kenma's apartment, Kuroo opened the door then smiled. Kenma looked up at Kuroo from the couch. He smiled then got up. "Hi. I didn't think you would come back." Kenma said getting up from the couch and hugging him. Kuroo smiled then kissed his forehead. "Of course I will. I was expecting you to call me?"  Kuroo said. Kenma blushed then looked at Kai. "Oh hey Kai," Kenma said, waving at him. Kai waved and Kenma gasped. "You have your ring on?" Kenma said, looking at it. Kai nodded then looked at him confused. "Usually Yaku would be here during this time, where is he?" Kai looking around Kenma's apartment. Kenma looked at the time then pouted. "He went out for some food, I'll tell him to get extra since y'all are joining." Kenma said, beginning to text Yaku.
