Chapter 29

NK thought he helped Kuroo. Even Yaku helped out a little bit. By the time he left, he thought Kuroo was familiar with his feelings and was going to do better from now on. Well he was kind of right. Kuroo did get more familiar with his feelings again. But he truly wasn't doing better, he hated to deceive Kai but something just can't be helped. Two weeks have passed since Kuroo's and Kenma's fight. Instead of doing it himself he hired someone to follow him. And this time Kenma actually had no clue. Kuroo planned it carefully. He planned to get rid of Shoyo Hinata. He really was the only reason Kenma stopped sleeping with him. Everything went exactly as planned. Kenma started walking to Shoyo's house. But this time Kuroo was following him. Kenma looked back and stopped walking. He stared at Kuroo, but the boss was smart and kept walking past Kenma. The member sighed then hurried to Shoyo's house. Kuroo got to Shoyo's house then snickered watching the two through the windows. 

"Aww Kenma~ At least let me win one round." Shoyo said losing another round of Super Mario Party. Kenma snickered then kissed his cheek. "All's fair in love and war." Shoyo pouted then the round started. Since Kenma felt bad he let Shoyo win this round. "Hahaha! Steer clear Ken Ken, looks like I got a win." Shoyo said, doing his victory dance. Kenma got up and grabbed Shoyo by his waist. "Jeez I don't get why God made you so cute." Kenma whined blushing. Shoyo snickered then kissed his nose. "God made me sexy, thank ya very much." Shoyo said, scoffing dramatically. Kenma rolled his eyes then kissed him. The kiss was slow, there was something more behind it. "Hey... Sho. I have a question." Kenma said, glancing over at Kuroo staring at them in the window. Shoyo looked then nodded. "Yeah... I see him. Do you know him?" Shoyo asked. Kenma shook his head, they both put on some clothes then walked outside. It was going to be hard getting Shoyo outside in public. 

"Well... I think there might be a fireworks show by the beach. Wanna go?" Shoyo asked, holding Kenma's hand. Kenma nodded then looked behind him. Yep, Kuroo was following them. What was up with this dude? Why did he like him so much? Shoyo looked at Kenma then pouted. He let go of his hand then started walking back towards Kuroo. "Hey you! Y-you." Shoyo saw Kuroo's face. He immediately realized who Kuroo was. The orange-haired male ran back to Kenma and grabbed his arm. Shoyo's mind raced. What's the Nekoma boss doing chasing us? Shoyo thought. Of course Shoyo knew who he was, he was one of Karasuno's biggest enemies. Shoyo had only just joined the Karasuno Mafia a month prior of meeting Kenma, but he wasn't expecting the Nekoma boss to be chasing him. 

Kenma was shocked. How did Shoyo know who Kuroo was? Or maybe he doesn't and just got scared. He couldn't think, Shoyo pulled them into a grocery store, then they walked to the bathroom. "Listen, Kenma. I think this is my fault... I need to tell you something." Shoyo said, biting his lip. Kenma pouted then snickered. "I know. You're in a mafia group right? I don't know which one you're in but that guy following us is a mafia boss for Nekoma." Kenma said in a low whisper. Shoyo nodded then hugged him. "Please don't be scared of me. I just thought the concept was-" Shoyo began to say, Kenma kissed him then snickered. "Well... I'm in one too. I can't let you know which one in particular of course but yeah." Shoyo let out a breath he was holding in. "Well... let's go back to your house. I think we'll be good." Kenma said with a smile. 

"Are you sure? What if the Nekoma boss keeps following us?" Shoyo asked, confused. Kenma hummed then sighed. "The best we can do is just close the blinds. Tomorrow we can barricade your windows." Kenma said looking at how it was 1 in the morning. Shoyo nodded, then they started walking back to Shoyo's house. Kuroo followed them then got back into position. Kenma closed the blind of Shoyo's window, then put a blanket over it for good measure. They went back to playing Super Party Mario. As they were playing, Shoyo actually won this time. Kenma's jaw dropped and Shoyo got up to do his victory dance. "How'd you win!?" Kenma asked in disbelief. He stood up and grabbed Shoyo's waist. He leaned in for a kiss. 

But then the window broke. And there was a gunshot. Kenma got down immediately, bringing Shoyo under him. Kenma squeezed his eyes closed then he smelled blood, he opened his eyes seeing Shoyo coughing up blood. "SHOYO!" The bullet wound went through Shoyo's neck. Kenma picked him up, grabbed his phone, then brought him to the bathroom. He locked the door then looked through Shoyo's medicine cabinet. "Don't worry Sho. Fuck! FUCK!" Kenma said seeing nothing to help. He grabbed towels and covered the wound. "I wasn't expecting him to fucking shoot." Kenma said, he quickly called 911 then felt Shoyo's pulse. Shoyo still had a pulse, he must've been out by shock. "Hello 911, what's your emergency?" Kenma told them that his boyfriend was shot, then the address. 

"Kenma..." Kenma heard. Shoyo weakly touched Kenma's thigh. The member sobbed then nodded. "Yes, I'm here Sho. Don't worry help is coming, their coming. Just breathe okay." Shoyo snickered then caressed Kenma's leg. "I'm glad I beat you... in Mario. M-make sure you take care of Natsu for me Kenma." Kenma shook his head then he sobbed again. "Don't talk like that Sho. Please- you're not leaving me again." Kenma sobbed. Shoyo smiled then looked at the phone. "Kenma... it's getting harder to breathe, I feel like I have a hole in my throat." Shoyo said, looking up at Kenma. "Don't worry, I got you Shoyo. You're gonna be okay." Shoyo smiled then focused on breathing. "Looks like I'll be meeting Koyama-san soon... I love you Kenma, you better- you b-better win every Mario Kart game in the history of mankind now." Shoyo said with a little snicker. 

Kenma nodded then watched Shoyo's breathing get faster. He closed his eyes but Kenma still felt Shoyo rubbing his thigh. "I love you so much. I don't know how I'll live if you don't Shoyo." Kenma said with tears going down his cheek. At the point Shoyo was crying as well. "Well... first you... get free. Run away, then start new." Shoyo said with a smile. Kenma shook his head then placed a kiss on Shoyo's forehead. "Thanks Ken Ken... I love-" Shoyo said, Kenma cried and sobbed. He didn't feel Shoyo's hand. Shoyo was gone. The only thing that made him truly happy was gone.
