It's been a month since Blackjack joined team Rainbow, and the mercenaries have gunned down countless White Masks. I'd like to say that they were on a mission, but currently, all the operators were sleeping in bed. Suddenly, a long burst of gunfire sounded from the shooting range, waking everybody up. The operators all went out to find who had disturbed their beauty sleep. They were expecting Bandit or Jager, who were the troublemakers.

They didn't expect the whole Blackjack crew messing with attachments at the gunsmith station.

"What on Earth are you guys doing?" (Bandit) "Testing out new attachments," replied Nathan, holding up two Makarov pistols with 80 round drum mags (CoD Warzone, eh?). Then, Katrina held up a heavily modified HK416. The barrel was ludicrously short, and the foldable stock was collapsed, so it was essentially an SMG. (imagine a sawed off HK416 with foregrip, red dot, and double stack stick mag)"Why on Earth would you need a compact HK416?" (Jager) "Because I'm fed up of 9mm and .45 ACP not having enough stopping power, but 7.62 is too much recoil. 5.56? Perfect." Then, she let rip at a wooden target, downing it perfectly with two shots to the head, followed by a headshot. A perfect Mozambique Drill.

"Now, would you please leave us alone to our gunsmithing?" "No, you're too loud." "You guys are awake anyways, so why bother?" "Fine, let's just go grab breakfast." As the operators left, the sound of gunfire once again rang throughout Hereford Base. "バカ" (Hibana) "Let's just go eat, I'm hungry." (Dokkaebi) And the sound of gunfire continued.

The rest of the morning was pretty standard. Workout, break, chat, lunch. Just as the operators were finishing their lunches, the gunfire suddenly stopped. Soon, they caught a glimpse of the mercenaries hauling their modified guns across the hallway and into their shared common room (each faction has their own common room, including the Blackjack mercs). "Well, guess they're done..." (Mozzie) "Wait, why not check out what they've done?" (Ash) And so, her being a nosey girl, they decided to sneak into their dorms with attack drones.

"What're you looking at?" (Nathan) Ash looks over her shoulder and screams out loud. "How long have you been here?" "A few minutes. You know, if you wanted to see our guns, you coulda just asked... Anyways, I'll show you myself."

"Now this here's Cheng's new LMG." "Really? A handheld Browning M2?" "Yeah, but it's got a compensator. Slower fire rate, but it shreds non-reinforced walls. Fed by bullet chain housed in this box that can be tied to your belt or backpack. Also, it looks cool when you hold it underhand like a minigun." "What about this antique hunting rifle?" "Actually, this is another one of Bess's heirloom weapons. A Beretta S686, to be exact. She 3D-printed an iron sight on it and added a barrel extender." "Grapeshot?" "Expanding slugs. Anti-armour. Even if your Kevlar blocks it, you'll still get blunt trauma. Only downside is it's 2 shot capacity." "No shit. Well, what's this thing?" "T.J's HK416. More like an SMG, now that it's so compact. Compact, but enough firepower." "Why not 7.62 then?" "He thinks it's too much recoil." "Of course you guys have a sawed-off shotgun." "Oh, it belongs to T.J, he added a folding skeleton stock and choke to it. Don't forget the angled foregrip." "Really?" "He says it feels comfortable, but I feel like it's more of a "tacticool" meme." Ash just face palms and ignores the sawed-off.

"This?" "My own babies.Dual silenced Makarovs with 30 round double stack stick mags. I also messed with the internal firing system. It's now full auto." "Damn. Recoil must be through the roof then." "Nah, 9mm Parabellum isn't too much. The silencers also double as compensators anyways. The added weight in the front negates some of the recoil." "What's with this shit then?" "Oh, you mean Jyn's AA12? He swapped in a softer spring, so the fire rate's almost double now. He also got dual drum mags, 50 rounds of 12 gauge shot pellets. Added a foregrip and compensator for the recoil." "Huh. Nice Vintorez here." "Yeah, Katrina figured that we'd do a lot of room clearing and CQB, so she straight up swapped her SKS for the silenced VSS. Slapped on a foldable skeleton stock and short-ass barrel. Swapped the 6x scope for a 2x, and added a 30 round extended mag." "She still using FMJ rounds? They don't work well against armour." "Nah, she's loaded AP rounds. Probably tired of shooting White Masks in the legs only."

"Did Hans make any mods?" "Yeah. He basically swapped his AKM for an SVD. Still uses the same ammo though, but with 15 round mags instead of 10. Now it has a new system that allows him to switch between mags without reloading. See this switch here? Now, you see an AP and HE mag connected side by side, but only the AP mag's loaded. If I flick this switch (flicks it), the mag will toggle to the HE mag, except for the one in the chamber. I flick it back, now it's the AP mag again." "Cool!" "He didn't stop there." "Don't tell me he heavily modified two guns in a few hours." "He did. Lookit, he slapped an extended mag onto his 93R, so now it has 9 bursts. Lightweight trigger, extended carbon barrel, vertical foregrip and skeleton stock, it's basically a miniature FAMAS now." "Looks like you guys know more about gunsmithing than we do."

"Nah, we just mess around with attachments," said Katrina from the doorway. Ash just grinned. Suddenly, the PA speaker blared to life. "This is Six. 7 defending operators have just issued an official challenge to team Blackjack. A 7vs7 team deathmatch will be held this evening at 2130 sharp." "Well, looks like a perfect time to test out our new weapons," said Jyn, as the rest of Blackjack appeared in the doorway. "Good luck guys, you're going up against 7 of the best and most experienced defenders I know." (Ash) "Meh, we'll just decimate them anyways." (Nathan) "Big talk, Nathan. You might've bitten off more than you can chew though." (Ash) "Guess we'll find out when we find out." (Katrina)

"Prep phase starts now." (Six over PA) "You guys wanna use the drones?" (Bess) "Nah, we'll just chill for now." (Jyn) "Really, you're that confident?" (Katrina) "Matter of fact, we are that confident." (Nathan) "Fine. Idiots..." (Katrina)

"Action phase begins now. Good luck teams." (Six over PA) The spectator stands erupted in cheers. "Here we go, the team deathmatch is underway." (commentator) "Now, the defenders are finishing up their defences, and the attackers are moving into position." The mercs advanced, weapons ready. "Cheng, light 'em up." Cheng simply nodded and rained .50 cal rounds in a concentrated circle in the front entrance. The reinforced door started to buckle and dent under the pressure, a feat that was never achievable except with explosives or Kali's sniper. "Alright, that's enough. Hans, blow it." Hans raised his Dragunov and shot an explosive round into the dent, and the reinforced door promptly blew apart. The operators were in shock.

"And now, we make our entrance," said a grinning Nathan.
