Kairi's POV
"Ok come on guys" my mom said and I started to speed walk out of the air port so I can get to the car first and sit in the passenger seat
once we made it to the car I walked to the passenger side and had my hand on the door handle but then my mom said this
"Kairi why don't you sit in the back with Mattia and try to get to know him, I mean he is your age and you guys will be going to the same school so let Maiya sit in the front seat" My mom said and my heart started beating fast
"O-Ok" I stuttered out and Maiya started giggling and walked to the passenger seat
Mattia walked to the other side and I got into the car and so did he
it was awkward and I didn't know to to say but thankfully he isn't shy or anything and he started a conversation
"So Kairi right? is that how you pronounce it?" He said and I looked at him and smiled
"y-yea that's how you pronounce it and Mattia? is that how you pronounce your name?" I asked and he smiled
"Yep" He said "So Kairi, do you like New Jersey?" he asked and nodded my head
"Yea I do, It's so nice here I love it" I said and he smiled "were you born here or did you move here?" he asked and I smiled
"I moved here" I said and he nodded "how long have you lived here? and where did you move from?" He asked and I had to count
"We've been here for about ummm well Maiya's 12 so about 14 years and we moved from Japan" I said
"Oh really, do you remember how Japan was?" He asked and I smiled just thinking about it
"Oh course I remember, I lived there for the first few years of my life, I might not remember much but I do rember some stuff" I said and he looked at me
"Do you remember what it looked like?" He asked and I looked over at him
"I remember that it was big, there was alot of Building" I said and he nodded
I realize that I was talking to much about myself so I decided to change the topic and ask about him
"but what about you? Do you like Italy?" I asked and he smiled
"Yea I mean it pretty nice there" He said and I nodded
"So are you excited about being here?" I asked and he nodded
"Yea I am but kinda nervous about about school" He said and I smiled
"well you don't have to worry about that cuz you and Alejandro will be with me and my friends" I said and he smiled
"what are your friends names?" He asked and I smiled
"I don't have alot of friends but I have a descent amount my friends are Alvaro but you already know him uh Robert,Roshaun,hunter, Mateo, and my boyfriend Mar well I'm friends with some of his friends but not all of them" I said and his mood seemed to change a bit but I don't know why
"Kairi Mar is not your boyfriend" My mom said and I sighed
"mom I don't know why you don't like him" I said and he looked at me from the mirror
"I agree with Alvaro, Mar isn't good for you Kairi, you deserve better" She said
"but mom I like Mar" I said and she sighed
"I know but I just don't want you to get hurt and Mar has a bad reputation" She said and I sighed
"I know" I said and we pulled into our drive way
Once we parked I got out of the car and walked to the trunk where Matt is was
"here let me help you" I said and grabbed 2 of his suit cases
"No Kairi its alright I got it" He said and tried to reach for his stuff but I smiled
"Oh well I'm helping you" I said and he smiled
"Kairi can you show him where his room is?" My mom asked and I nodded
"yea, Come on Mattia" I said and walked into the house with him following me
we walked up the stairs and past the living room into the hallway where the bedrooms where
"Alright so this room right here is you room, If you ever need me I'm in the room right across the hall from you" I said and he smiled
"thank you Kairi" He said and I smiled "No problem" I said
"ok I'm going to go to my room and like I said for you need me you know where to find me" I said and he nodded so I walked over to my room and shut the door
