Wild animals

As I got up and got dressed I headed to breakfast when I entered Rebecca and Maybell gave me dirty looks and put their feet up so there was no room to sit at their table, like I would be desperate enough to sit there. I ate at my usual table alone then headed to my room to prepare for training.
When it came time to go meet the prince for chai time I found a note on the ballroom door saying to meet in the gym. So I headed their to find him and my trainer waiting for me. "Why are we here?"
"This week is stamina. Your advanced
In all categories like yesterday in making hard but neccissary decisions and on running, I hear you have been running 7 miles a day in here with no problem not even breaking a sweat?"
"Yeah it helps push away the frustrations" I glared at him.
"Well good. Your expected to run 50 for the whole week. You have to do a minimum of ten miles a day or if you can do more you can and you will be ahead, less to do the next day I guess." He shrugged and left. So I started jogging and by the end of the day I had 16 miles done and I knew this was gonna be a piece of cake. My body was use to this now so it didn't ache so bad.

After the week was up I had ran 76 miles just to rub it in the princes face. I knew the challenge was tomorrow but I didn't care anymore. I already knew to expect a death and not a pleasant one at that, they was slowly getting worse.
______________________i woke up and got breakfast again just like every other day this week, and I heard the announcement from the king to enter the ballroom so I headed to my chair again to take a seat.
"We are almost done with the challenges ladies. Today's challenge you all are given different weapons and you must kill the animal assigned to you."
"Reagen you must kill a bear using only your armor and a bow and arrows, and Maybell you my dear have a wolf you must kill with your armor and a spear. Last but not least, Rebecca. You won't have armor as punishment for sleeping around, but you will however have a sword. Your animal is the wild hog. You will be put in a dome room we have on the first floor, we use it for classical dances we hold here. You will be locked in and after exactly 30 seconds we will release the animal that was chosen for you."
"The winner gets to call their family and the loser gets a 25year allowance for her family and the loser will be drained and then the body will be put into the woods for hungry animals. So I need you to draw a number to determine the order you go in. Also if you all defeat your animal then it goes by how long it took you to do it."
The king then walked around with a bucket and went to Rebecca first, then Maybell and I was last. I got a number 2. So I'm going second.
I found out Maybell was first so we all sat in a bulletproof room and had to watch. I watched her walk in and position herself and then the wolf ran out. It charged her and it pounced on her but she kept the spear between her and the wolf and after what felt like forever she was able to push it off and position herself again. Then it charged one last time and she threw the spear and about three feet from her it fell, dead. The doors open and she was escorted out of the room.
My name was called and I stood and headed to the entrance. I was no longer scared I was ready to win and make these vampires suffer.
After I heard the doors close I started counting down as I went to a box in the room and got on top of it and positioned myself. As soon as the bear came running out I fired an arrow and misses. I hurried and got another ready and shot again and it hit the bear in the leg and it paused and got pissed. It then decided to run even faster and was now two feet away so I panicked and grabed an arrow and broke it in half over my knee and shoved it straight up. I watched the blood trickle down my arms and look to see I shoved the broken arrow threw the Bears throat and it was stuck in the Bears head. It fell forward right on top of me. I couldn't help the cry that slipped out of my mouth but as soon as it did I felt the bear being thrown off and my body being lifted. I looked up to see the king carrying me. I waited till he got me to a room I was guessing is the nurses room.
"Why did you help me? Why not the prince, I figured he would since I hate him so much."
"He wanted to trust me, but then it would be obvious that he loves you to the other girls so I had to push him back literally outside the door and promise him I would help you. So no one can question it. Because you had already killed the bear anyways so it is not cheating."
I decided to let it slide and the nurse gave me some medicine for my bruised ribs and I was took back to the bulletproof room to watch Rebecca. She had more time to mentally prepare since I was hurt so she should be thankful.
I watched Rebecca walk in and as soon as the hog entered she freaked she just swung the sword if it got close and did this for like five minutes until once she actually killed it. Then they took her from the room and had us stand and head to ball room.
They told us that since we all lived we had to go by times. I was the winner with 47 seconds and Maybell was in second with 1 minute and 6 seconds. Rebecca lost with 4 minutes and 19 seconds.
Even though I dislike Rebecca it still sucked to watch her drained and to know what was gonna happen to her body. It made me really sick. When they asked me if I wanted to call now I asked if they would let me call tomorrow on free day and have someone go ahead of time to make sure they are there when I call. When they said yes that's fine I headed to shower and get sleep, or more like nightmares.
