I had a free period, so I decided to go into the gymnasium some girls from our class with a banner. That night it was a basketball game, so they needed people to help with the decorations. "Hey," I said to a girl named Olivia. She had been in my class for a couple of years. "Hi, if you'd like you can take the bucket over there and fill in the blue letters," she said and pointed to a bucket a couple of meters away.
I helped her for around ten minutes, before I saw him walking into the room. Peter didn't show for school the day before, and I had wondered where he went. Flash blocked a guy and pushed him to him the ground. "Regjected!" he shouted the whole gymnasium heard him.
The ball was heading our direction, but I was too late. It hit my bucket and made a mess all over the banner. Olivia stood up in irritation, I stayed down. "You did that in purpose, Flash!" she exclaimed. "No, but I should've," he said and moved closer to us. "You better watch you back," he continued and grabbed the ball.
Peter was coming over, my heart started racing for no reason. "Hey," he said quietly. He sat my paint can upright. "Are you alright?" he asked, and I nodded.
Once again, I could see the ball coming, but I was too slow. Peter on the other hand, was not. He caught the ball without even looking. He looked up, looking very confused. He traded a look with Olivia, like he didn't want her to see what he just did. He looked at me and saw that my eyes grew wide.
"Give it up Parker!" Flash said and walked towards him. He gestured for Peter to hand over the ball. Peter trades another look with me, before nodding his head. "Oh... one sec," he said and handed me his camera. "Why don't you take it from me?" Peter suggested.
I shook my head. This was not going to end well. Flash was stronger than Parker, and Peter had never even played basketball. They walked towards each other, and met in the middle of the field. Some of Flash's friends encouraged him. Peter held out the ball. "Go ahead, take it."
Flash tried, but missed. Peter had passed it to his other hand, behind his back. He was fast. Flash tried again, but Peter passed it again and held it high so he couldn't reach. When did Peter learn this?
He pretended to dribble him so Flash reacted, but Peter stood back in his spot and smirked. This was new. Peter Parker had always been the guy to be picked last for any kind of team in P.E. Peter pretended to throw the ball at Flash, and he flinched. "How the hell is he doing that?" I asked Olivia. She shook her head in disbelief.
"Just take it," Peter said and held the ball out. "Alright, how about this?" he asked and covered his eyes with his hand. "All right? How about that?" he asked and then turned around. Flash tried to grab the ball, but it was stuck on Peter's hand. He even tried with both hands. Eventually, Flash let go and started walking back.
That's when Peter started dribbling. He smirked. "Bring it Parker! Come on!" Flash yelled. Maybe he thought he would have a chance at the physical. Peter ran, knocked Flash over and leaped through the air. He dunked the ball, but the glass behind he basket shattered.
Some girls from the Cheerleading team screamed, and everyone else were watching him. He looked up in disbelief.
How in the hell did he do that, I thought.
